It depends on the publisher. I feel that Ubisoft, WB and Activision are serious when they say they are studying WiiU sales and I think they do somewhat care. I think I can say the same thing with Sega, Capcom and Square Enix and other japanese publishers. Especyaly in the case of jap publishers, I think if sales pick up, we can seriously see new content that are different than on other platforms. We won't see RE7 but maybe something else much smaller but still fun. Kinda like Bravely Default on the 3DS.
As for most western publishers like EA, Bethesda, Take Two etc... Yeah, they don't give a F***
