I will be referring to GameCube a lot because its the Wii's predeccesor. Here's my opinion, what's yours? I'm talking about in terms of NINTENDO  games.

To me the Wii was a dissapointment as a hardcore Nintendo fan. It just didn't have that Nintendo magic when I played Wii games. Yes Super Mario Galaxy was amazing but thats one of the only Nintendo games on Wii that had that Nintendo magic.. plaus I like Sunshine better. Mario Kart Wii was a let down for me. It was amazing at first but the long lasting appeal wasn't great. I still to this day love MKDD or MK64. And it felt like they didn't care about their own fans as much as casuals. I like Melee a lot more than Brawl. I like how you can build your own stages in Brawl but Melee had better multiplayer and the controls were a lot smoother and faster. I don't think Metroid Prime 3 was as good as the first 2.. or at least the first one... Twilight Princess and Wii Sports was the only must have Nintendo games in 2006. In 2001, the GameCube had 4 must have Nintendo games... Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race: Blue Storm, Pikmin, and Super Smash Bros Melee. GameCube feels like it was made for hardcore Nintendo fans and at times hardcore gamers.. and the Wii seems like it was made for mostly casuals and sometimes Nintendo fans. Nintendo 64 was made for pretty much the same audience as GameCube. The Wii didn't have an F-Zero, Star Fox, Wave Race, or Pikmin game. A majority of 3rd party games on Wii is just party games or games that were cheap. The last good Nintendo game on the Wii was TLoZ: Skyward Sword which was released nearly 3 years ago. The GameCube had its last good Nintendo game only 3 months before it got discontinued. TLoZ: Twilight Princess. The Wii U so far is not dissapointing me. They had a 2D Mario game at launch along with Nintendo land. After launch Wii U had Pikmin 3, TLoZ: Wind Waker HD, Super Mario 3D World, DKC: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8. Coming soon is Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad, Smash bros, Splatoon, Kirby, Yoshi, Zelda, and more....

Before anyone hates on me I still love the Wii.. It's tied for my favorite console of the 7th generation with Xbox 360. I just think in terms of Nintendo games it was a dissapointment compared to N64, GameCube, and so far Wii U. Share your opinion and tell me why you think it was or wasn't a dissapointment.

It was lovely and amazing. Provided lots of excellent games if you looked hard enough and brought in new ways to play.

If we're just talking first party, yes. But not because the games were bad, but because motion controls, I felt, watered them down. When I play core games, I need accurate controls because they REQUIRE them. Games like Wii Sports and other casual games played great and were fun a hell because those titles were built around simple control schemes, so the Wii Remote worked fine.

This is why I am looking forward to Wii-U games because...you know, buttons!! Yay!!

i was waiting a pokemon stadium 3:P i played and  i m playing battle revolution, but there is something i dont like:Pso you might be right:P(how  ever wii satisfied us  with a perfect mario kart and  nsmb (and some others:P)

Late in its life, yes, it did disappoint me.

No, it had awesome exclusives IMO.

Not at all.

On the contrary, it got me back into gaming after the 6th gen made me quit.

Nintendo's 1st party offerings on Wii were a huge improvement over the Gamecube, and motion controls were a breath of fresh air.

I think the wii had some of the best Nintendo games ever and I really loved the console for Nintendo games. Mario Galaxy/II is the best 3d Mario game ever, Twilight Princess was a masterpiece imo, Metroid Prime was really fun, Brawl was epic, specially due to 200+ tracks, custom map editor and even the subspace, and the list goes on! Sure, it had some baddies like Wii Music and other shovelware but I think Nintendo's best outweigh their worst when it comes to the wii

Yes. The Wii was an utter dissappointment for me once I got a 360.

When I first got the Wii I was pretty young. And enjoyed the hell out of Wii Sports, and some very obscrure games like Bully SE, WWE, and a few others. Twilight Princess came out, as did the amazing Brawl, Galaxy, and Galaxy 2. But then I was maybe 16 and for Christmas I got a 360. I also got GTA 4 around this time and the 360 opened me up to a whole new world of a much more robust online, achievements, and games in HD. I put the Wii away in my closet and never looked back. This is coming from someone who loved the Gamecube more than the PS2 and someone who just disregarded Xbox. Never even had the original Xbox. Then I got into JRPGs and later got into the pS3 and the exclusives from Sony and I just realized how bad the Wii was for ME in comparison. Yes it did have its gems, but to me it faded into obscurity once I got the other systems.
