Most apparent example- Is how the opinion about paying to play online changed after Sony introduced their PS+ service, sure they were somewhat clever by renting out old games but basically you have to be subscribed if you want to play online. Also it´s funny how a similar service like EA Access gets hated by the very same people, I´m sure the opinions would have been quite less hateful if Sony didn´t block this service and therefore became Xbox exclusive.

I have to defend Sony on that one too. Online Play is an expense for the game developers and if you don't pay for it there's something wrong. Either you'll get a bad service or it will not be sustainable for the service providers (and the Online will close way too soon) or you're overpaying other products (which makes the business model sustainable). I much rather prefer to pay for everything I use (following this principle I somehow opt by much better deals in my life) than naively thinking there are free lunches.

Paying for Online was inevitable and thank god Sony realized it in time. When the Online was free on PlayStation, gamers got expensive consoles and epheremal online experiences while Sony got financial losses. When the Online became paid, gamers got cheap consoles and long lasting online experiences (I hope :)) while Sony got financial profits. Of course there's more to it than just the Online but the point is that everything became much more fair. Who doesn't want to play Online does not use those resources and therefore does not pay for it. And who just want to try it for 1 or 2 months, only pays for that time period.

You might have seen some people "changing" their opinion about paid Online (because they criticized Xbox Live and now they don't do the same about PS+) but most probably that's because Live is very expensive and very poor on offer deals while PS+ is just the opposite.

Regarding EA Access, I'm not aware of that. Anyway, I'm not sure whether you can compare it to a console online service.

No, the OP was asking why people bash this while liking TLOU:R, which accomplishes almost the exact same thing.

I did NOT compare it to COD or NSMB, nor did I mention anything about an annual franchise. That was brought up by you guys, and it's off topic.

AC's annual releases pointed out my Miguel_Zorro and the cross-gen releases mentioned by you are in fact different things but in the end they converge to the same issue (cash-grabbing through game recycling). You are very keen of establishing the difference and go after who mixes the points (which is not useful in any way) while totally ignoring who doesn't and shows you that TLoU is actually a different case (I did it here: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6569021).

Clearly you don't want to understand the situation and you don't want your questions to get answered. You just want to bash anybody that dares to complain about Assassin's Creed.

No, I'm not bashing anyone here. I've kept things civil, in no way have I attacked anyone.

And complaining about Assassins' Creed isn't the point of the thread. The point of the thread was comparing the marketing strategy of the two latest titles to a similar marketing strategy by Sony.

Any dislike for the series would be best discussed elsewhere.

Not explicitly but, in a way, you have been rude to people that tried to help getting your questions answered. You should be nice to them instead of despising their effort and telling them "go bash it elsewhere" or "you didn't bother reading the posts" or "you can think what you want, I really don't care".

You could have created a positive environment, valuing any honest contribution to the debate (even if you don't agree with it) and treating with respect all the participants in the discussion. Instead, you just impolitely rejected any arguments that weren't convenient to you but in a way that you could "keep things civil" (pretty much like politicians do).

And, again, you totally ignore my initial post (which addressed exactly what you wanted). You have already the answer to your question. You just don't know what to do with it.

Because AC is a tired franchise and
TLoU is a port from last generation. Not similar in the least.

I'm not hating on TLOU or AC but they are different. TLOU you only have to buy 1 version to get the full experience. For AC you have to buy both versions for the full AC experience.

The PS4 version of TLOU is an upgraded version of the game. The two AC games are different.

People bashing Assassins' Creed as being a repetitive annual franchise does not answer the original question at all. It has nothing to do with wat I asked. It has nothing to do with a positive environment and everything to do with keeping the thread on topic.

But to each his own. I'm done with this topic for now.

I actually haven't heard people complaining about this til now. I think it's great Ubisoft are creating an exclusive game for each console generation, no one wants the current gen game to be dumbed down due to the PS3 and X360 nor do they want a shitty port from a game designed for the PS4 & XBO.
