Based on Nintendo's projections of 3.5 million shipped in Fy15 (march to march) it would seem the answer is no. But perhaps Nintendo deliberately low balled shipment figures in the hope that they will be able to say shipments exceeded expectations.

Speaking of amiibo effect.  Disney Infinity 2.0 isn't coming to Wii.  For people who want the game it might be the small incentive needed to get a WiiU.

Well, I don't think it is at 6 million yet. 


You think over 1.5mil is on store shelves? Why would stores accept WiiU's if there are soo many in stock? Its definitely over 6.2mil now guaranteed, i think over 6.5mil (from today)

Also NPD has WiiU over 2.5mil and Japan over 1.8mil which totals 4.3mil right there alone. So 5mil is totally off.

I don't know why people expect big boosts like, for instance, happened lot of time last gen. This gen won't happen. They used to be new fresh takes on games, with HD, online, motion controls, etc. Now it's just the same old thing witt better lightning. Last gen were sol around 260M consoles. Do people see how much that is and it won't ever happen again? We're lucky if even half of that is sold between all 3 consoles combined.
Having said that, yeah maybe WiiU can hit 10M by end of year. Won't be easy, but doable.
