Whether you are new to anime and want to watch some of the best available, or are a veteran who's looking for some new content, this is the place to keep an eye on.
Jizz_Beard_thePirate: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya follows the high school life of Haruhi Suzumiya, a young and very active high school girl, and those who are caught up in her unusual antics. While Haruhi is the central character to the plot, the story is told from the point of view of Kyon, one of Haruhi's classmates.
As the story progresses Kyon and Haruhi meet many new people including the time traveler Mikuru Asahina, the alien Yuki Nagato, and the esper Itsuki Koizumi, all of whom attend North High. Mikuru, Yuki, and Itsuki were all sent to monitor and observe Haruhi since she has the unconscious ability to destroy the universe and make a new one. Their mission is to keep her from getting bored, since Haruhi will create a new universe from scratch if the old one fails to remain interesting. However, they must hide Haruhi's powers from her for unexplained reasons. These three join Haruhi and Kyon to form a school club called the SOS Brigade. The entire series consists of the SOS Brigade's attempts to keep Haruhi entertained while hiding and dealing with supernatural phenomena.
Long story short: It is a fantastic series that everyone should watch. It is without a doubt, my favorite of them all even if season 2 was more on the eh side. 9.5/10 for me due to how much the movie makes up for Season 2 @_@

Jizz_Beard_thePirate: I say K-on and the reason is that the anime blends Slice of Life, Comedy and Music really well! Both the singing and even the background music during some moments really show an emphasis on music that I havnt seen in any other anime before! Top that with some really funny comedy moments and quite rememberable characterization, you have yourself a truely great anime! I specially love Mio's songs and she is certainly my favorite anime singer without a doubt! 8.5/10.
(Genre: Comedy, Music, Slice of Life)
NobleTeam360: Angel Beats: Great anime that has a lot of emotions in it, it's on the short side of 13 episodes, but it does so much in those 13 episodes and I truly felt attached to the characters. Also I find the humor to be quite good, I can say I laughed at least a few times each episode. 9/10 for me!
(Genre: Tragedy, Action, Fantasy)
VanceIX: Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood: Still the best anime of all time for me. A masterpiece in all aspects. The characters, the story, the animation, all of it was perfect. It was the kind of anime that could send shivers down your back because it was just that good. A tale both tragic yet heart-warming at the same time. Every anime fan should give it a try. 10/10.
(Genre: Science Fantasy, Action, Adventure)
estebxx: Elfen Lied is the reason why I started watching anime, it was so good that I wanted to see if I could find an anime that was better than it, and even though with time I did found some other incredible anime masterpieces, Elfen Lied is still a great classic that everyone should watch.
It centers on Lucy a Diclonii (a mutant) human being with two horns on her head and the ability to control "vectors", transparent telekinetically controlled arms that have the power to manipulate and cut objects within their reach, bullied and rejected since childhood Lucy starts to build up a hatred against society and human beings in general.
The show features themes of social alienation, prejudice, identity, revenge, abuse, jealousy, regret and the value of humanity. It also contains graphic violence and emotional themes that feature characters development through the whole story. There is one word that I would use to describe this anime and that’s UNIQUE. 10/10
(Genre: Romance, Tragedy, Action)
Squeezol: My first recommendation in this thread is "Is The Order A Rabbit?" which is your typical cute girls doing cute things aka moe anime. It's simple yet relaxing, and even feels refreshing because of its theme. The anime revolves around Cocoa and her friends living their lives in and around the Rabbit House, a cafe where all kinds of coffee are served. The animation is super cute, just like the characters, and the music fits the overall European scenery very well. I give this anime a moe out of 10.
(Genre: Slice of Life, Comedy)
Zisbest: An Anime recommendation you ask for? The first thing that came to my mind 'Recommend ToraDora... just do it, darn it' So now I'm here doing exactly so. ToraDora is basically your standard Slice of Life Anime, mixed together with a lot of Humor and Romance.
The plot evolves around the two students Ryuuji and Taiga who essentially want to help each other out to hit on their individual crush. None of their plans work out the way they intended though, so they stumble from one funny moment to the next. Living pretty isolated in the beginning, Taiga continues to form a pretty strong bond to Ryuuji over the course of the 25 episode long Anime. The plot certainly won't get boring.
Now who should watch this Anime? You're into Slice of Life? Certainly. You want humorous situations? Check it out. You can't resist Romance with a Tsundere couple? Why are you still reading this? Personally I'd rate this Anime a solid 9/10 any day.

Versus_Evil: Natsume Yuuinchou: Emotional, genuine, heartfelt are three words that i would use to perfectly some up Nastume's Book of Friends. The main plot of the anime involves Natsume returning the names of the yokai his grandmother stored in the book of friends that he inherited after her passing, much to the annoyance of his friend and "bodyguard" the powerfull and gluttonous yokai Madara. A rollercoster of emotons from laughter, sorrow, worry, sadness to elation, each one of the 52 episodes presents a new story, a new yokai looking for they're name back and a new character to fall in love with. From these stories, the sountrack to the characters and the chemistry between them, everything within this anime will invoke some sort of feeling that will leave you wiping away tears or laughing but always wanting more. My favourite anime of all time and one i dont think will be topped anytime soon or if ever. 10/10
(Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Shoujo, Slice of Life, Supernatural)
Kyokusanagi: Aishiteruze Baby: Kippei Katakura is a high school playboy who flirts with any girl he sees. His life is turned upside down when one day his 5-year old cousin Yuzuyu shows up at his house after her mother had seemingly abandoned her. Kippei has been charged with the task of taking care of Yuzuyu, and he must learn how to become the "mother" that Yuzuyu needs.
I recommend this anime for everyone who wants to watch something touching. 10/10
(Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Shoujo)
Uran-10: I recommend Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha because its not exactly your typical save the world being cute magical girl show. its not Madoka but it is as someone once said "the Magical girl anime that keeps me in the genre". Its got good action, likeable characters and lots of sequels too and the 2nd season is amazing. Easily an 8/10 but its 2nd season is a 9/10.
(Genre: Action, Comedy, Drama, Magic, Super Power)
AsGryffynn: Rebuild of Evangelion: The original Evangelion anime was good by itself, but this one added a depth other similar stories lack. The series is no longer as depressive as the original, and the action and voice acting in both versions (English and Japanese) sounds great whereas the OST by Shiro Sagisu will immerse you into the depths of the Geofront and the quaint and chaotic suburbs of Tokyo III. 9.7 out of 10
(Genre: Action, Dementia, Drama, Mecha, Psychological, Sci-Fi)
Zisbest: King of the Hill: Produced by the underdog Anime studio "Fox", King of the hill is the pinnacle of "western type" slice of life Anime. The several seasons long Anime mainly focuses on the daily routine of the main protagonist Hanku Hillu, who is basically just trying to get his life straight, but fails to do so on many comedic occasions, mainly revolving around his wife Peggia Hillu and his son Bobby-kun. The Anime most definitely delivers in the already mentioned comedic aspects, but also doesn't shy away from more adult oriented content and even ecchi scenes, as well as scoring one of the catchiest Anime OPs to date. An essential must this season. I give it a 9.5/10
