Still forecasting a full year loss.

...and worringly they have already reduced the smartphone shipment from 50.0m to 43m.  thats a massive reduction of expectation.  They actually sold less phones this quarter than the year earlier when they expected to sell muc more.  So they wont hit the 43.0m either imo.

Playstation shipment expectations remain at 17.0m  for PS3 and PS4 and 3.5m Vita + PSP (PSP no longer adds to total from now on)

That means we'll get proper Vita numbers from now on? No combining bullshit?

So PSP is done then this quarter? Too bad they dont give us #s, i think 750k is good for the quarter

So Game division $43 million profit and in total $680 million profit for the quarter, certainly looking much better than the last few years for Sony

yes, but we still wont know lifetime sales.

Well at they can't hide behind the PSP anymore. It would be interesting to see what Vita has done lifetime though.

Oh I see thats before tax

Income taxes: During the current quarter, Sony recorded 26.0 billion yen (258 million U.S. dollars) of income tax 

expense, resulting in an effective tax rate of 38.1%.

They need to speak to whoever does the tax for apple & google & microsoft and find out how they pay so little tax
