Not even close! "Believe the hype", "Have you seen Titanfall", and many people proclaiming it as the GOTG. Destiny is hyped, but no where near Titanfall levels of hype.

As hyped as Titanfall? Definitely more hyped.

OVER hyped though? Depends on the final game and your opinion on it. For example I have hundreds of hours in Titanfall. You call it over hyped, I call it under hyped.

Did he even play the game? Titanfall was hyped as the second coming of FPS, doesn't matter how players feel about it, fact is it was supposed to turn the XB1 around at the very least win march NPD for it, clearly it failed to meet expectations, even if those expectations where unrealistically high.

All Destiny has to do is sell alot I think it was 10 mill before next year or something? Thats significantly less hype, hype to save a system vs hype to sell a lot.

Good post. That is a great way to seperate the type of hype. Destiny's hype is "This game is going to be HUGE!!!" Titanfall's hype was "Once TF hits the XB1 will being to beat the PS4 each month in NA".

It's definitely overhyped, but I don't think it will be a bad game or even a flawed game. The reason being is that Sony fans seem to think that because they get exclusive DLC that means they are gonna attract some huge fanbase with it...

The thread where I got into an argument over it, the users were saying that it was gonna sell more than any other FPS ever (those were pretty much their exact words...) Everything Sony these days is getting overblown and overhyped... It's ridiculous.

The worst part is that if reviewers or anyone honestly says that "this isn't the great game it's made out to be" Sony fans will suddenly start saying "I never liked that website to begin with. " This is causing reviewers to give perfect 100s for games which should only get 90s (The Last of us).

Then theres the Sony fans long term memory loss problem. They did the same thing for pretty much every game they've released, but a couple years down the line, and suddenly MGS4 is openly admitted to be an overrated game which is filled with way too many cut scenes. Heavenly Sword which was a 10 hour game. Killzone 2, God of War 3. All of those games were hailed as the best game of all time at their release by Sony fans... Half of them are completely forgotten about now. Killzone 2 is openly criticized for faking how beautiful their graphics were. I remember that when the game came out, my friends who were PS3 fans didn't even realize they were faked graphics. Shows how much those HD graphics are worth.

I've noticed a trend... Most everyone who says it seems like a legit game has played the beta/alpha or are currently in it. I just started it yesterday and I'm not saying it's a day 1 for me, but it's doing a damn good job of convincing me it is.

Then I've noticed nearly everyone who says "oh its WAY over hyped, looks lame, so on and so on" then I look at their Avatar and it's a big Mario Kart avatar or something similar to that... Hm... How much of the beta/alpha have these people played? My guess is little to none..

In the end it's all subjective. It's all our opinions and that's okay. Some will like it for what it is, some will hate it for what it is. and that's okay. Play what you enjoy and let others play what they enjoy.

What is it about Destiny that makes Playstation enthusiasts believe you must have ulterior motives to have a negative impression of the game. As if it's so good it is beyond honest criticism or something lol. Talking about posts like the one above and many more like it, or that thread.

For me it is a good game because of the exploration and coop but that's it. Not game of the year imo. The PvP is horrible, unbalanced and feels outdated.
