I don't think you realize how many western games were never localized in Japan.

I don't know how anyone can argue for Nintendo at all. They're expotentially worse in this category with region locks, barring 3rd parties from publishing their titles in the US (Disaster and Fatal Frame 4 with Wii), in-house games taking months to come or not at all. Luckily, we get the major games from every company with a few exceptions. Mostly smaller niche stuff gets announced, but there's still dozens that never make it.

Think about it the other way: If all those offers you mentioned were not exclusive to Japan, they wouldn't exist at all, and you still wouldn't have them.
This way at least you have an option of importing.

Im not that bothered with exclusive console versions. As long as they release the console over here at all, then Im happy. Exclusive games are shitty...

They seem to have lots of Japan only versions of games.


Not only that, I had to wait almost a year to get a black 3ds xl in the US...meanwhile, Japan received like 20 different limited editions.

Well Japan is where PS4 is going to struggle most to pull big numbers, so it needs more love from Sony.
