Even though it sounds like something Nintendo would do and make perfect sense, I still doubt the credibility of the source.

If you don't need the figures to play as the characters they just won't be as essential.

Do you really think lots of people will buy the figures of Little Mac, Villiger or Wii Fit Trainer otherwise?


The hook is some of the most beloved game characters of all time in figurine form. They add something extra to the game and if you dont like the addition, then atleast you have a cool figurine.

This is why Nintendo needs to make a game focused on them as well as having their uses in other games.

Probably.

But I dislike the Amiibo concept really much. It's such a misguided effort by Nintendo.

How is THIS expanding gaming?
