What he says and what the gentleman who posted previous says ( yes I would be surprised)

I m also not sure why 3rd party titles are factored as if they don t make a difference -  Both Sony and MSFT have moved plenty of hardware and tons of 3rd party software over the years -  the COD, AC and GTA franchises alone are significant -  so even if MSFT and Sony s 1starty stuff dropped off ( not likly for long) the amount of 3rd party they get that the Wii u does not makes up for it

Yes, because the PS3 was just barely profitable, had a horrible launch, they fired Ken Kutaragi, the guy who designed PS1, PS2 and PS3, hired Kaz as the CEO to resturture Sony entirely, Sony has been bleeding money for a decade and you think, after a year of good sales on 1 console, Sony is going to coast...
Yah ok...

EDIT: Not to mention Insurance is their biggest thing.

Don't know why this needs to be said once again. Sony are not coasting this year. SSM has had some trouble and Driveclub got delayed. The reason there is not a load of exclusives on PS4 this year is because Sony decided to heavily support PS3 in it's final year, something MS did not do.

There will be loads of exclusives on PS4 from October on-wards from Sony, perhaps more when Sony completely gives up on Vita (I'm hoping for a console Gravity Rush) and probably even more when series like Tales and Persona make the transition to new gen.

And PS4 will never lack content from September on-wards, it has all the third party support.

Actually that is the only point that needs to be said. Without something to draw in tens of millions of casuals, a system without Battlefield, Ass Creed, future CODs etc could not win this generation

ok so let me get this straight, first it was ps3 will be the leading platform in 2007, and when that didnt happen, everyone said, 2008 is the real year of the ps3, then when nothing happened, they said wait till 2009, then it was wait till 2010, and then they finally outsold the 360 at the end of the generation, and then it was 2014 will be the year of the 4. and now its wait till october of 2014 and 2015 is the real year that sony is going to let us have it? i dont know. sounds suspect.

Crazy nintendo fan scenarios never get old!

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Nonsequitor.

Sony would be insane to coast, like actually mentally ill.

They aren't going to coast, they still have a lot of first party work to show.

Maybe because I've never seen you make a post that warranted a nice response from me. ;)

What do you expect people to say here? Your scenario is ridiculously unlikely, saying anything else would be a lie.

well lets just say that sony bundled the ps4 and vita together, and having the vita associated with the ps4 turns off a lot of people in america. then would it be feasible? either way, judging from the poll, it seems a good amount of people believe its a likely scenario.

Why would Sony forcebundle the PS4 with the Vita? You're not making your scenario more likely here. And I wouldn't try and use Nintendo polls on this site to prove a point, they have been getting ridiculous results for quite some time now, some Nintendo fans just don't want to face reality.

If Sony stopped manufacturing the PS4 in Q4 2016 the Wii U wouldn't be able to close the gap... So I say no.

The big problems here is that PS4 has a lot of 3rd party muscles. Even if Sony doesn't releases anything, there will be big budget marketing heavy mega hits. That's what sells it. It has a decent power/price ratio too, something that drags the Wii U down for next gen consoles. People want a console that gives a real jump over PS360 and that's on PS4 and X1 only. Or you have to give something more, like the motion controls on the Wii. But the Wii U gamepad simply isn't a innovative idea because it doesn't add any significant feature to gameplay, it's not a game changer like the Wii mote that created new genres and things like that.

Nintendo is trying to relly on having a massive new idea every gen, but things don't work like that. You innovate, but you have to create a solid plan if you innovation isn't the game changer. Think Project Morpheus. VR. What if it flops? Well, it will be a the new PS Move. So what? The console isn't built around it. If it was there day one (as the gamepad) and it flopped, PS4 would be dead or at least damaged (see X1 and Kinect). So yes, if Nintendo doesn't stop relying on crazy things as their only pillar, they will end up out of the home console market. Like Sony would end if the PS4 was made with the same thinking line that created the PS3. You can't do a mess every gen and still be on business. You are allowed to ruin one, but several in a row it's a death sentence.

Returning to the comeback, it isn't possible because in gaming history being overtaken only happens when the lead company does several mistakes in a row. Because after you are in 1st place, you can reduce your pace and even do one or two idiot things without losing your spot. The PS1 overtook Nintendo, the Wii overtook the PS3, the PS4 overtook the Wii U only because the previous leader screwed everything possible he could screw. N64, PS3 and Wii U, at launch time, simply did almost everything wrong and managed to burn a previous gen leadership to the ground in 1 or 2 years.

A miracle would be required, like Sony going bankrupt. However, the wii u could beat the one.

it is kind of possible that Nintendo will win this gen through the 3ds though.
