Forums - Gaming - Star Citizen creator gets a PS4 dev kit but insists 'It will NEVER be dumbed down for a lesser platform'

Look, you've been steadfast against PC and PC development optimisation and such, so I'm not even going to argue this. I love No Man's Sky (also on PC, btw), so I see no reason to bicker over the success of either game (and $45 million is a huge success already for a start up company financially, even if they fail to deliver the best game possible).

I could say the same thing about you in relation to consoles. But that is not the point or what this is about. That should have been clear to you when i used no mans sky as an example course as you so nicely pointed out, its also coming to PCs.

What I am talking about is that its bad business sense to come off talking down every other platform before your game is even released. Its just bad business. And again, if they feel... or you feel that having raised $45M so far givs them the right to do that then I am telling you that that is just not thinking big enough in the grand scheme of things. This is actually a big deal if you know how crowdfunding works. How many people gets a copy of the game from that $45M, how many more in sales do they plan on selling? How much does it really cost to make the game and how much goes to profits?

I have not said I want  star citizen to do badly.... hell I also funded the game for crying out loud!! Albeit with only $40 and will probably be the only game I play on amy PC in a while. I am just saying taht whenever devs come off talking like this, from experience... it never ends well for them. Look at too human, look at crytek.... even gabe ended up eating crow at some point... and prior to wither 2 CDP also said they would never make a console version of the game, now a console is the lad platform.

All I have said here, is lets see where they are in a few years. But that somehow offends you? Please, tell me where i have said one thing negative about the game???????

You know, arguing with you is getting a tad boring. You claim that I am offended, nowhere did I say that. You claim that I claimed that you claimed that you want Star Citizen to do badly. No where did I say that. You claim that I am against consoles, which isn't true at all, seeing as that I own a PS3, PS4, Wii U and comment tons on console threads about how I am looking forward to Destiny on PS4 or Zelda U and such.

And you originally said that $45 million is not impressive, which I said isn't true. Now you are saying that the $45 million isn't impressive because the game may be bad in the future and in the future they may not get enough sales. All of that is completely hypothetical, when all the original argument was that it was impressive that they already have $45 million as a start-up company. The (completely hypothetical) future has no role in this.

And if you did fund the game, as you claim, can you provide proof? You need a pretty good PC to play the game, as many have pointed out before, and yet you don't come across as a PC gamer.

HAHAHAHAHA, man, the arguments on this thread are glorius:

"I don't care about your game anyway"

"You will end up crawling back like many others"

"Who cares? No Man Sky will be better"

Oh man, seeing those kind of arguments on some nintendo trheads back them was sad, but i'm happy i can now laugh about others doing the same.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

But what if you actually don't care? I can get the game if I want but I don't want it. Are you laughing because I don't care?

Way to go twisting everything i have said. To the point now that its like you are pratically lying on me. I will just assume that you do not understand what I am saying for whatever reason and leave it at that.

And proof? Why in Gods name should I have to prove anything to you? Do you see me telling me to prove that you own this or that or this as you say. please get this, we don't have to see eye to eye on anything, we can hate eachothers guts for all I care. I have no qualms as long as we keep our discussions civil. I didn't say or insinuate all the stuff i bolded in your post though, however; I can understand why you are going on like this is thats all you somehow think that i have been saying.

But you know what? Disregard everything I have said... I am probably some sort of deep rooted PC hater and want star citizen to fail.

You obviosuly have not been ading my posts previously, since you think that cause I am not a PC gamer I also don't have a dcent rig..... funny thing is, chances are that my rig is more decent than most people here. And in a previous post not only did I point out what it was I also said why.....

PCs are advancing much faster than back in the day.
Though that doesn't matter does it? I thought the majority of PC gamers had PCs weaker than X1s or something? Though maybe they'll upgrade whenever this game releases.

This game got featured on PSN+ program, would you activate or just ignore because you don't care?

*sigh*

"I have not said I want  star citizen to do badly"

-and where did I say you did?

"And again, if they feel... or you feel that having raised $45M so far givs them the right to do that then I am telling you that that is just not thinking big enough in the grand scheme of things...How much does it really cost to make the game and how much goes to profits?

-shows that you did, in fact, say that the hypothetical future means that their present accomplishments aren't impressive.

I could say the same thing about you in relation to consoles.

-once again, in your own words, you're saying that I'm against consoles.

And you know what, you don't have to give me proof. Don't expect anyone to believe you though. You're attacking me as a liar, even though you don't even want to prove that you own the game, which was one of your main points. All it would take is to link your community username, but if you don't wish to, that's fine. Don't expect me to have blind faith in what someone on the internet claims then.

And your notion of us hating each other is off. Why in the world would I hate you? I've kept thing pretty civil, and I'm not personally attacking you. What makes you think that I would hate someone because they don't seem to support one of my platforms?

1. Man, people are so bitter that PCs are actually relevant.
2. Whatever, this game looks very boring anyway.
