Wii started to die in 2010 i don't see ps4 die that quickly

Wii didn't start dying in 2010. It's sales were still good that year. Even in 2011 PS360 barely beat the Wii, so in Wii sales yes it started dying in 2011 but as for competition sales it didn't start dying until 2012.

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

RIP Iwata 12/6/1959-7/11/2015

Thanks for all the great memories!

Ps3 was not selling BETTER than what the PS4 is now DURING the summer months,ps4 has any of ps3 issues that's why it will sell better then ps3.

you obviously did not read what I said. The PS3 started off bad because it had issues, Issues that the PS4 doesn't really have now. Once those issues were solved, the sales for the PS3 jumped and skyrocketed and began selling better than what the PS4 is suring the summer months during it's second year. It took about a year and a half. You are not going to see this with the PS4 because the majority of those issues are not there and the issues were not to the extend of that of the PS3. Give it by next year and you'll see the gap between the PS3 sales and the PS4 sales start to close in on each other instead of widening as they are now. Also, just so you know, the PS3 at this exact week sold just about what the PS4 did (well, almost, 96k and not as much in terms of global sales) and it was already selling poorly so what does that tell you?

It's because this week the ps3 had a price drop...  (-100$)

http://edition.cnn.com/2007/TECH/fun.games/07/09/sony.price.reut/

So you are comparing a no major summer week of the Ps4 with a price cut week of the Ps3.

Last gen combined was 500m units. This gen won't even come close. Handhelds are suffering way too much, and it seems as if home consoles is taking a beating as well, although it's way too early to say anything conclusive about that, yet.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

No because of wiiu

lol, even if the Wii U sold as well as the others (well, actually it is starting to sell as well as the Xone right now), it would still be lower. PS4 will be lucky to even make it to 80mil with the sales it is bringing in now.  Btw, if the PS4 is going to reach your prediction, iis is going to need to sell 100-150k console a week on average for the next 9-10 years. With it already dipping below 100k on several weeks now, That is not going to happen.

Wii u is the biggest contributor, and ps4 will be not lucky at all to not sell 100M,it's not my fault if you are ignorent do you know Ps4 still selling better Ps3 until now and in Summer console sale are always low.

once cross-gen stop and get it's biggest exclusivity ps4 cold sell even 200k a week for long time

I do agree that the PS4 will pick up but usually if a console starts off slow it won't pick up that much. Look at Wii U. Even though it now has a great library it started off 2013 really slow and that ruined it. We're still seeing side effects of that today and probably will until it's done. Wii will sell more than PS4 unless Sony pushes the PS4 for 10-12 years like they usually do

Wii u don't have a great library for mass market a console without 3rd party games will not succeed wii 3rd party support did not improve a lot.

Wii died after it's 5 years but it won't happen for ps4

Maybe i used the wrong word but after it's 5 years Wii sale start to fall quickly down 6 millions in 2011 and 2010 then 3 millions from 2012 to 2013

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Not a chance.

You are also forgetting that the PS3 was still priced more than what the PS4 is now at that time of that jump. The price is what solved a lot of the issues and it sold better than the cheaper PS4. What does that tell you about the demand of the PS4 as of now?

And what is your basis on that? The Wii hit 100 million  and was selling 3 times more than what the PS4 was by now. The Wii didn't drop below 100k sales a week until 5 years into it's lifetime. Maybe if Sony keeps the PS4 going for the next 10-12 years but it won't because they won't let them selves be left behind. With the current numbers as they are and how they are going, it will never happen. Not even close.

What it's suppose to mean ? The WII was selling faster than the Ps1 and the Ps2 and we all know the result.

"What does that tell you about the demand of the PS4 as of now?"

That the demand is low because it is summer and the Ps4 haven't had a major game since may. So it can't compete with a console during a price cut week. What I think is that the demand will probably rise when big games like Destiny will be availaible. Plus, the Ps4 sold 4 millions in 2014 vs 4 millions Ps3 from nov to july 2007.
