Forums - Nintendo - New Smash Bros Character to be Announced Monday

A new fighter, eh? I predict Shulk!

I don't understand why they treat adding an additional character as a new or separate announcement. Just give us the roster and then show gameplay. That's all they need to do.

It's all about marketing. The new Smash Bros was announced over a year ago, if they had released the whole roster at that time, the hype around the game would be much smaller today.

Ghirahim, to coincide with the hype with Hyrule Warriors. Calling it now!

I understand wanting to stagger it, but look at the Directs. They treat single character announcements are big deals with absurd detail. I can't imagine other fighting games treating it's roster this way. It's just really odd. If this is a huge surprise that no one knew about or expected, then it'd be justified. But the "unknown" characters have most likely been leaked for a while (and if they just show vets that should have been included in the first place >_> )

Probably Shulk if I had to guess. Seems like the most logical choice.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Sakurai talked about a video and they only make videos for brand new characters so it won't be Captain Falcon or Ness or any other veteran.

Thats arguable, there is no hint of him joining in (no franchise representation atm). But he is in the leak everybody is going on... Dont be surprised if the newcomer is Chorus Men though :)

Super Smash Bros is probably the most important Roster in gaming, its all about hype! The HYPE!!! I think this is the best thing they can do honestly, and its the only franchise (2nd time) we get daily/weekly news from :0

I want Karate Joe. He would fit pretty well:)

I'm just get0ting tired of it being drug out for months! My hype has turned to annoyance with how they handle the game. I don't hold the roster as importantly as you do. I won't comment anymore to not be a negative nancy.
