Most companies release their games on Tuesday which is why October 7th, 21st and 28th all have many titles. It's a little weird that there's no release for October 14th though.

Why Tuesday? Surely any possible sales advantage the day may somehow provide is negated by the compiling of multiple releases?

Or is this simply on of those "because why not" situations? :p

It's because they usually ship out stuff on friday/Sunday and then get all the orders in on monday, to release on Tuesday. The staff is fully there on a weekday. Whiel weekends has some people off. The weekend screws up delivery times. So things aren't nromally released on sunday or monday. Unless your like Nintendo World. And can get deliveries directly. Or pay for faster shipping.

Huh, TIL. Thanks ^^

So there are 6 games that I will be buying in october alone. In truth I will probably space out all th egames I am due to buy from october-january and end up buying them all around febuary. no point buying games that i wont have the time to play for months cause i am playing something else.

Can never understand why they do this in this industry though. I mean its common sense, after months of drought why pack in over 10 games in one month?

People going on vacation, saving up for one, kids going to camps etc. in the summer causes that force drought. Then you're stuck with Oct, cause school restarts in september. College money being used on books. Parents buying supplies. Or dump everything in for Xmas (Nov-Dec). Which isn't a good Idea either.

7 games for me in October @_@ - i could reduce that by 1 if I don't buy Driveclub and use PS+ edition, but still, thats terrible...lots of money.

There are going to be some high profile failures this October. People complain about no games and then loads come along at once (well it starts hotting up from September). After october if anyone says there are no games to play, I will personally berate them online for the rest of the year :D

It seems even in November its going to be at least 2 or 3 games for me. Thats approx £500 on games alone...arrrrh!

My predictions:

Long Legs:
-Skylanders: Trap Team

Under Perform
-Project Spark
-Sunset Overdrive
-Evolve
-Battlefield Hardline
-The Evil Within
-Lords of the Fallen

Sell OK
-Driveclub (expect this to be greatly affected by (PS+)
-NBA 2K15
-WWE 2K14

Sell Good
-Alien Isolation
-Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Sell Well
-Dragon Age: Inquizition
-GTA V (X1, PS4, & PC)
-Just Dance 2015
-Assasin's Creed Unity

I am expecting some of these games to move months... but the biggest problem they have is there isn't a lot of room for them, they will be better in November but anything in the new year, we are looking at major competition again.

I look at the 'big' october and I see 2 wii u games, which are basically junkware. Just dance and skylanders.

You forgot Bayonetta 2.
I'm gonna get 4 games in October, which is why I already secured 3 weeks of vacation in that month :)

I cant seem to find a solid release date for Bayo 2 other than sometime in October....anyone know?

So so true.... I guess its just unfortunate. I wouldn't really be affected too much, the only games that i need to get at least within a week or two of their release are the multiplayer games. Games that are primarily a single player experience I can hold off on. But its just really all bad.... I can't get evolve cause i will be deep in destinys multiplayer. Can't get middle earth cause i wil be on dragon age. Can't get evil within cause i will be get alien isolation instead.

They really have to figure out a better way to release games, cause most of these are great games but I will not even be considerring getting them cause i just lack the time, and if i can put off their purchases at laucnh I might as well wait till I can get them on sale 6-7 months later. At least unlike you I will be paying in dolars not pounds :)

I honestly think that from mid-October to early-January PS4/XBO will be extremely supply constrained. Like Destiny is gonna be huge and with release after release up until December.

So many games. My poor poor wallet :(

They will be making comfortably more units than they are selling right now to ensure that won't happen.  Sales would have to be astronomical, especially for X1 which stores have loads of stock for already

Yeah it's really stupid, but in their defence...when they initially plan the games they dont really take into account competitors (because they dont know what they are doing 18 months before the games release)....what some of them should have done was said Winter 2014... and then they can move them about a bit once they see how everyone else is doing.

Big problem is that when a date is set for many games, they generally cannot move it, due to advertising, dev costs etc.

From a personal point of view i need to find where i am going to get the time to play these games.. because i just dont have it right now... and have a massive back log of games I need to start.
