Forums - Gaming - Hyrule Warriors is the #1 most wished for game on Amazon

Maybe. The point I was trying to make was more that I think it would be a lot harder to interest PS fans in a type of game that they normally don't care for, just by putting it in the skin of one of their favourite franchises, especially if the type of game is not really known for being very good.

As in like PS All stars or LBP Karting? Maybe it's more like PS fans just don't care as much for spinoffs period.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Not in the slightest.  I find the whole hype wagon for this game to be both amusing and interesting.  I can't wait to see post-release reactions.  I'm also interested to see how much critical reception differs from other Musou games.  This could be an entertaining ride.

I thought you hated generalisations and people with agendas?  Yet here you are showing both.  Perhaps you only hate them when not in use by you would that be more accurate?

Pokoko being a hypocrite, imagine that.

Pardon, but what are you talking about?  Are you my replacement stalker?  Really, I have no idea what you're saying.  Be more clear.  Are you telling me that it's not interesting?

At least you aren't insulting the both of us by attempthing to refute the claims since they are self-evident as per this thread.  Kudos on that atleast.

That's because you haven't actually said anything coherent yet.  I'm waiting for you to explain.  So far, you just sound silly and overly-sensitive.  Oh no, someone said something mildly sarcastic about a game related to the console I like!  They must have an agenda!  Yes, yes, I work for EA.

Look, put away your tin-foil cap and I'll explain to you why people are poking fun at the hype for Zelda Warriors.  This is a genre that has been around for a long time with very little interest from some of the people who seem to be very excited about it now.  How is that not kind of amusing?  When I say this is an interesting situation, I mean exactly that.  I waiting to see how this turns out.  I want to see how the critical response grades against other Musou games.  I want to see if Japanese Zelda fans buy it or if Musou fans buy a Wii U for it.  There are a lot of directions this could go.

Now, stop being silly.

Well, that was hilariously short lived.

I hope this translates into real numbers for the game. I know I'll be buying day one. =)

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

The sad reality is that Amazon is not THAT accurate when it comes to video games...

I think they'll market it as a spin-off, but if the internet is to be believed then that doesn't matter as long as it has the Zelda skin. *rolls eyes*

Also, I really don't think that there is any Sony franchise were that would work, not mechanically but from an interest point of view, I just can't imagine PS fans getting more excited for a Musou game just because it has an Uncharted skin for example, nor would it work with any other type of game, like who knows a dance game or whatever.

Not to sound arrogant here, but I think that this very easy to attain extra bit of excitement for games just because they have the characters of their favourite IPs in them is something that is pretty much exclusive to Nintendo fans.

Yeah but what about....
God of War-riors!! Play as Kratos, the Olympian Gods,  other heros from Greek Mythology, and other characters from the series.

There's plenty of fans of that series that only like the game to run around and kill stuff. Come on, you know there'd be *some* Sony fans super-hyped for that. Especially if it was a Vita exclusive.

Thats, in no small part, because we have a history of things like Mario Kart, Paper Mario, Metroid Prime, and Smash Bros. I mean Paper Mario (when its actually being a JRPG and not freaking Sticker Star) is one of the few things the guy from Zero Punctuation actually likes and he is definitely no Nintendo fanboy or JRPG fan.

It actually could.  Regardless of all else, it still has the Zelda name on the front of the cover.  The character art is nice and it has a bit of that traditional Musou sexiness.

It might even turn out that people in the west like the game-play style and it's been the Japanese-centric subject matters that's been holding it back.

I can't wait for this game to release.  Bayonetta 2 is a really interesting experiment but this one might be just as important.
