Forums - Nintendo - Kotaku changes its mind about Wii U and says yes!!

The herd will follow the bellwether, so good news for the Wii U.

The keen observer has already for some time been able to see the shift in the gaming community perception of the Wii U from where it was cool to hate on the system and ridicule the interface, specs and controller, to where it is now more cool to acknowledge the good games on the system and woefully resign to the faith that the system will be a hidden gem.

Of course, none of this will matter in the end as the gaming community is just a very minute part of what drives the success of a console. It is as always the general public who will decide the faith of the machine and they don't give a shit about Kotaku.

Quality always shines through eventually.

Nintendo is frothing with anticipation at the additional 8 units this will sell!!!

Gaming sites will praise all the bad decisions Nintendo make, and try to shout down every good decision that they make.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Nice to see Wii U get some recognition, even if it's only a tiny bit. I use mine just about everyday, even when I'm playing PS4, the Wii U is playing videos or displaying a strategy guide for whatever game I happen to be playing.

Off tv play is very convenient as well, I use it quite often. All retro NES and SNES games look fantastic on the gamepad screen.

I'm telling you...it's the next Dreamcast. It's going to go from mock, ridicule and embarrassment to GOAT. In five years, it's going to be extremely sought after.

I'm not entirely sure, cause the Dreamcast was only out for a year and a half (in America at least) and had TONS of great games, coming out like crazy. The Wii U... not so much. Plus the Dreamcast had a ton of original games and was super innovative. Way ahead of its time, but then it was also outdated as well (for example, it supported online play out of the box, but used 56k).

The Wii U is more like a GameCube... but with less sales and third party support.

For as much I don't like Kotaku for reasons I won't get into here, a lot of people read and give a lot of credence to what they said so I think will help change the perception of the Wii U.
