None of them are. I think all of them deserve what they are getting based on how they are handling the products they have out.

I'm tired of the nintendo made this market defense for Nintendo. Is is true? Yes. But that doesn't mean we owe Nintendo something. If nintendo makes a product that I believe to be better than the rest, I will buy from nintendo. I don't care about what they did in the 80's because it's irrelevant at this point. If nintendo were to die to day, I would be sad, but the market would do fine without them. We don't owe it to Nintendo for making consoles popular. Honestly, I think this may be the reason why I (and many others) aren't interested in nintendo anymore. For some reason, it seems that nintendo can't come up with new characters. Almost everything has to do with mario or zelda.

Umm... That's EXACTLY what we're talking about. Nintendo is ignored by the press and by gaming journalism as a whole, and because of this, lots of people judge Nintendo based on negative word of mouth. The Wii U has loads of games and currently way more great games than either of the other two systems.

Lmao they're ignored because there's nothing to talk about. Another Mario game, another DK game lol? Sites talked about those games and they've talked about Mario kart, they're talking about smash and Zelda. What else is Nintendo doing? They don't have a lot of games. The games most sites talk about are 3rd party games and guess what Nintendo doesn't have good 3rd party games. There isn't some invisible beef people Abe with Nintendo. It's that Nintendo doesn't have that many games worth talking about. Sorry it's just the truth

They have lots of great games to talk about, but they are not cool enough for the cool people in this cool industry...

I spoke about the "nintendo made this market defense" because you were talking about how important Microsoft was for Sony to keep improving, not because I want everyone to feel like the owe Nintendo something. Still, what they did in the 80's is still relevant because it started shaping the modern gaming industry.

Anyways, in this post you're basically restating how much you only know the stereotypical "hardcore" view from Nintendo.
Nintendo does come up with new characters and IPs. In fact, one month ago, at a certain something called E3, they announced one new IP for each of their two current consoles. Mario and Zelda were never the big focus, though they did show up quite a bit if you consider spin-offs or games that are slightly related to them (SSB).

Of course Mario and Zelda are their biggest priorities, and this happens for a very specific reason: these are their most successful franchises, both commercially and critically. Every new game from these franchises goes on to sell millions and receive acclaim from most people. This doesn't mean it's everything they make. In fact, the Wii U has a lot of other Nintendo IPs and they'll keep on coming.

You see, this also happens with other gaming companies. Microsoft is constantly showcasing new Forza and Halo games. Sony keeps making more Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet and God of War games. The reason why this isn't such a big deal is because people buy their consoles for third-party games instead of first-party content. Sony isn't developing every big hit that's released on their system, neither is Microsoft.

Nintendo does not focus too much on Mario and Zelda, people only think this is the case because of the lack of third-party support. Nintendo is still relevant though, because they do things differently. You see, Nintendo basically created the modern console market back in the 80's - and nowadays, they are once again the only company making consoles out there. The PlayStation and Xbox are spec machines that people buy to play single-player and online multiplayer third-party games - that's the very same definition of a gaming PC. Nintendo is the only one who actually cares more about the games, and for some reason the current market thinks that's reason to bash them.

I can't stress how disgusting it is to see gaming news and talk these days. It seems everywhere I go, everyone's talking about the same things. Everyone only talks about AAA, FPS, resolution, casuals/hardcores, online multiplayer, etc.
People no longer care about gameplay, they care about power and graphics. They'll only play blockbuster games with enormous budgets and despise every downloadable game.

Games should be about gameplay. I don't care about how much money was spent on development and advertising, or how much the game is technically demanding. I care about what I play and what I see. If a game runs at 30 FPS instead of 60 FPS, I don't care and more often I won't even notice because that's usually irrelevant to my experience, and the same applies to any other technical aspect.

In response to your first two paragraphs, this is the first time I've quoted you on this thread, so I don't know how I could be restating an argument. And no, what they did in the 80's is no longer relevant to the current gaming market. As in, what they did 30 years ago doesn't shape my purchasing choices. 

And I agree with the fact that halo, GT, forza, and both GOW's are getting pounded into the ground. And I don't understand how little big planet is too much. They've made 4 of them on three different platforms. Last time I counted, there were, I believe more than to mario games on the wiiU, and it's less than two years old.

If the consumer thinks mario and zelda are being made to frequently, then it's true. Also, you do realize that there are many game being made excluzively for the ps4 and xbox one right? I'm buying multiple exclusives for my PS4 this year. You make it sound like graphics are irrelevant to gaming, which they aren't. Graphics allow you to do more with a game. gaming is better now than it was in the 80's because of graphical leaps. Saying it's power is irrelevant literally makes no sense. Also, the things you called disgusting was basically describing everything about a game. Also, the whole argument on the last paragraph is more applicable on ps4 and xbox one. They're making a push for indeis right now. Something that's incredibly scarce on all nintendo systems, which apparently "only care about games." Which is a false argument. They care about making money, and they're currently making the least marketable console. Why? Because they refuse to evolve with the market by embracing third parties and making more varied gameplay. And I will continue saying that. Because the only games that seem to have performed very well are mario games, with one or two exceptions.
