All 3 hold value but looking at my Elimination thread, Microsoft gets 0 respect. At least on here...

I think you should formulate the question again. Nintendo is the most praised of the 3 by critic and fans. PS4 outselling wii u doesn't mean they are underappreciated, just that Sony is aiming a bigger market.

Probably Microsoft, unlike Nintendo they've fixed most of their major problems this gen.

It's definitely not Nintendo since getting almost no vitriol is better than getting a searing amount of hate all around.

It close between Microsoft and Nintendo, but I believe is the most under appreciated. "Core" gamers talk all trash about Nintendo and how kiddy they are while worshipping Xbox or Playstation. Sony seems to get almost no hate, not from the press nor from the gamers themselves.

Nintendo, hands down. Sony gets very little hate at all. Most of the time you hear it being made fun of, it's about Sony's overall business, not Playstation. Microsoft gets a lot of hate, but it's largely from people who are just jealous at this point, overall the company is pretty respected and loved by the average consumer. Nintendo just gets flat out ignored, when they're the most innovative in the console industry, gameplay wise, and since this is the GAMING industry, that's what should matter, but it doesn't. When Nintendo does get attention, it's usually either hatred from people saying it's for kids, or actual kids praising it mindlessly, neither of which is good. The press censors it in a way that never ceases to amaze me. Like Rol said, digital Nintendo games don't even get metascores. When the press does talk about it, it tries to focus on the negative wherever possible. You hear about every stock price drop, but never how the stock price recovers again really quickly. And tons more of that kind of bullshit. Nowadays, Nintendo is irrelevant outside of a few nostalgic gamers, and some indie devs that grew up on Nintendo.

Puzzled by some of these responses. How is it Nintendo? "Gaming web sites pretend Nintendo don't exist". The wiiu has been out twice as long as the other systems and it barely has any games. People talked about Mario kart and now it's just smash brothers but there's nothing else. Id say Microsoft is under appreciated. They made sony up their game and will continue to do so. Nintendo didn't make anyone up their game. Without MS sony probably wouldn't be making the good decisions they're making now
