it astounds me that people still use hardcore as a term to describe gamers. People on here hate popular stuff. "Mainstream" games are popular, therefore they're suddenly overappreciated.

Gamers in this thread sound like people who constantly complain about pop music while singing praise to lesser known genres. Nintendo isn't underappreciated.

Ok Nintendo made Sega up their game back in the nineties, and without Nintendo, PlayStation and XBOX probably wouldn't even exist, and if they did, it'd either be

A. In Japan/Europe only

B. Not nearly as large as today
