I'd be willing to bet that Sunset Overdrive will be bigger than any game Sony has releasing this year

One has to ask these questions...

1. Based on what?

2. You expect it to sell more 3-5 million (LBP's numbers)?

3. You expect it to be Insomniac's best selling game (given #2)?

Not saying that it can't happen, but I wouldn't be able to explain how it would do so without being a massive title for the console.

Well I could say lifetime but the eventual bundles I expect for LBP 3 kind of gives it the advantage in that regard. Also if the game becomes well recieved then I could see it becoming a big franchise. I'm not saying it will happen, more of a hope than anything really :P

Let's face it, outside of the hardcore gamers and early adopters, neither PS4 nor XB1 has enough must have titles to jump on the next gen console train. For those of us who have a high-end PC too, it's even harder to justify since almost all cross-platform games are an automatic buy on the PC since they run faster, have better graphics, and cost far less on Origin/Steam, etc. At the same time a lot of my friends with PS3/360s are content buying cross-platform on their consoles as they don't see enough reason to spend $400 to play a high resolution version of the next AC or COD game. I guess they are not hardcore enough ;)

Given the ridiculous amount of games that can now be purchased on Steam's Summer and Fall/Winter sales, the consoles must have out of this world amazing exclusives to consider dropping $400/$800 to buy them. And unfortunately there are no must have exclusives for either console as of yet and even when they will come out, we will only get 1-2 (Destiny?) but a lot of people would want 4-5 before seriously considering spending $400 on a console + $50x 5 games. I know there is a hardcore group of gamers who wait for the next Halo/Gears or Gran Turismo/Uncharted and those next gen titles are way out (2015 at the earliest).

I think a lot of people will probably wait another 1-2 years before PS4/XB1 pumps the drive to 1TB and/or drop in the price to $349 and and 2nd revision of the consoles with APU shrunk to 20nm (or maybe even 16nm FinFET) comes out (this is what will make the console use less power and cost less). That 500GB hard drive is somewhat too small for the useful life of PS4/XB1; and XB1's isn't even upgradebable. Many gamers seem to be interested in purchasing digital copies of the games and this may be a factor for some.

Obviously the non-PC gamers and those with PS3/360 consoles may jump to PS4/XB1 this holiday season but I actually think 2015 will really be the year when PS4/XB1 will have a stronger library and by Holiday 2015 we should see a lot of those who held out buying those consoles. I expect price drops by Holiday 2015 as well which will only entice this group of gamers who held out from buying in the first 2 years of adoption. Generally speaking early adopters and hardcore gamers want to have the latest toy but in a lot of the world a $400 console + $50-60 games is still too expensive for many to justify without having a ton of must have titles to play on it (esp. exclusives).

It seems there is alot of bad attitude in this thread, when did people become so hostile? This is my take on it all:

- MCC was probably the single handedly most wished for announcement by fans from MS.
- alot of PlayStation fans wanted TLOU to be a launch title for PS4, therefore this remake is anticipated.
- MS AND Sony therefore decided to both MILK their franchises and at the same time do something for the FANS.
- This is not bad, since fans of both games get something.
- Sony has the weaker lineup this fall, in my view, but next holiday will be much closer with high profile releases from hem both.
- And can we drop this "not a proper release since it was on 7th gen" or "not exclusive since it exist on PC"? It's so silly.

I find it very funny how much people are underestimating LBP3.

Agreed, it is one of the most innovative games on PS3, so everyone should only be happy that PS4 owners who haven´t played the game gets the chance now.

Well i got the blue thingie of quoted but i didn't see anyone quoting me so excuse me for missing, whoever it was..

replying to the banned person that said "Drive Club honestly looks boring as hell compared to Forza, and while I can't wait for TLoU HD since I never had a PS3, it's also a game that came out just last year, it also doesn't come out during the holidays, and it also SERIOUSLY pales in comparison to the Master Chief Collection both in terms of quantity (4 full sized games to 1) and in terms of upgrade quality (all bumped to 1080p at 60fps, but MCC is doing that for 4 games rather than just 1, and is also bumping 3 of those from under 720p). They don't even have an answer at all to Sunset Overdrive."

FH2 looks boring as hell (as all open world racers do) compared to Driveclub, any Halo game will always pale in comparison to TLOU and LBP3 is the "answer" to Sunset Overdrive. Out of all the games mentioned i'll only be getting Driveclub and TLOU HD cause they are the only ones that truly interest me, out of both platforms.

As a PS4 owner, the Xbox One has a better line up this holiday.

The Entire Master Chief Saga in one package puts the Last of Us to shame.

I have no idea how you can see FH2 as boring without thinking DC is also boring, LBP3 certainly isn't the answer to Sunset Overdrive, more of a answer to Project Spark.

are we going to devolve into repeating opinions over and over again? Fine, TLOU puts all Halo games to shame, FH2 is boring because all open world racers are boring, Project Spark is playable on my PC.. as a PS4 owner, i see no reason to own a XB1 in 2014 and 2015

Why 2015 as well? You didn't dismiss a single 2015 game.

I was "mirroring" his post. Do you really want me to dismiss the 2015 games "in detail"? What will that argument accomplish other than repetition of opinions and a few bans? Though if you simply want to "know" why and let it be, I can do it...
