Forums - Nintendo Discussion - WiiU is about to be hacked

It's already been hacked. Somehow I get 7 straight coins in Mario Kart 8 when I'm in 1st. Must be a hack. Nintendo wouldn't program the game that way.

Soooo is this a good thing or a bad thing?

Obviously a device that promotes theft of intellectual properties is not a good thing.

Unless you are a worthless, entitled c*nt thief that is, then it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

"U"DE or ODE devices are for one thing only; to "pretend" to act as an optical drive so you can play games that you do not own through digital or backup disc format.

If you want a "backup" of your game, go buy another copy and put it away somewhere, sealed, in a RubberMaid bin.

"...bu...bu...bu...but I already paid for it once, why should I have to buy it again?"

So just because you bought a f'ng Big Mac one time, that means you get free Big Macs for the rest of your life?

So just because you bought a f'ng 2014 Dodge Charger, that means you get free f'ng Dodge Chargers for the rest of your life?

No, you get insurance to protect yourself and your investment and a warranty from the delaer/manufacturer.

Yes, believe it or not, it is technically the same thing and there is no justification to getting something for free unless the company who originally sold the product wants you to have unlimited copies for free. If your copy breaks and there is a warranty, call in the warranty or purchase an extra one at a store like Wal-mart for a few dollars more upon your original purchase.

It all comes down to archival laws in your country and whatever the copyright/user license allows from the company who distributed the media.

Nintendo, by copyright/user license, does not allow "archival" copies of their intellectual property. Period.

Eh, if I bought the game already and getting a rom is legal if you have, I'm really not gonna care at all if someone doesnt like what I'm doing, whether or not the use insults or yadda yadda. Not that I do it, since I find it hard to enjoy emulators after getting the real thing anyways.

A little late, here, how about a few more than this one, a few more reliable sources while we are on the subject.

They haven't even hacked the 3DS properly, skeptical that this is actually going to happen to Wii U this soon.

That one was blocked by an update... well not really blocked but it's not possible originally the way they used it. The same exploit loads up on the Vita too, except it goes in to a reload loop. For all we know an accidental Vita exploit might come of this Wii U exploiting.

I doubt this will lead anywhere any time soon. Nintendo isn't screwing around with piracy this gen.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

Meh. Buying all the games they want on disc for WiiU isn't going to make anyone poor, as sad as that sounds.

"Nintendo have already sent out an automatic update to prevent such circumstances from occurring, but hackers have already confirmed to get the code working on the newest firmware 5.0. There is a method available publicly, but we won't be posting it here."

Is what one of them said.

when it is done and ready..... wii u sales will be bumped...
