Even PC is downgraded in order to comply with console parity, let alone one console (PS4) over the other (XOne)...

Downgraded, console parity... Sounds like speculation to me. Go take a look at some facts, at some Digital Foundry face-offs: PS4 version comes ahead more often than the Xbox One version.

Digital Foundry face-offs... sounds like speculation to me ;) If you want me to look at facts, why don't you provide them?

Nevermind, went after them and found this:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-watch-dogs-face-off

Both look like the same to me. I don't believe anyone will take some imperceptible graphic differences as the deciding factor to buy a next-gen console.

Why don't I provide facts ? I provided you a source, I assume you are capable of using Google if you wish to investigate further. If you want name of games where the PS4 version is superior, you can look at Assassins Creed IV and Call of Duty Ghost, there's probably more. And yes, Watch Dogs is not a win for the PS4: I didn't say it always get the best version.

It might not matter to you, it could to other people, you can't speak for all of us on that matter.

Finally, if you think Digital foundry face-offs are based upon speculation, there is no point arguing.

The Japanese think very national, an outside company will never have any chance against homeland companies. Also the Japanese game market and the type of games are extremely different from anything known in the west.

Those are all Western games. I doubt Japan is going to give a shit about them.

Are Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy western games?

Those are multiplats. Why buy a xbone for those game when they can just get them on a PS4 made in their country by their people?

Then why do Americans buy the PS4? These questions don't make any sense. Both consoles are feasible options for multiplatforms regardless the region in the world that they are on sale.

Because Americans are completely different from the Japanese. lol I thought it was obvious by now. Japanese people are really particular about the brands they purchase. Theres even a law there that forbids foreign companies from buying out Japanese companies.

PS4 will likely get most "definitive version" of console multiplatforms games this generation, it's a compelling reason.

Pay same price for worse version, even if you can't tell the difference, you will know its the worst version because they will tell you. People call bullshit when XB1 struggles to get parity, its the reasonable assumption to think the weaker console will get weaker games. You pay the same price yet you get less.

Not to mention if you're some random dad, and you see two identical prices, you're going to ask which one is better.

"Well sir, this one has higher resolution"

hes not going to ask what that means or how much, he is just going to buy the higher resolution, its common sense. Bigger is better, especially when they are the same price.

Why don't I provide facts ? I provided you a source, I assume you are capable of using Google if you wish to investigate further. If you want name of games where the PS4 version is superior, you can look at Assassins Creed IV, Thief and Call of Duty Ghost, there's probably more. And yes, Watch Dogs is not a win for the PS4: I didn't say it always get the best version.

It might not matter to you, it could to other people, you can't speak for all of us on that matter.

Finally, if you think Digital foundry face-offs are based upon speculation, there is no point arguing.

You provided me a name (nothing more) and let all the investigation on my end (not to mention the information to be selected, the arguments and finally the conclusion). Is that a proof of anything? Not at all.

As for those games you mention, I found no significant differences between PS4 and XOne:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsQJVxaFfQw

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bI4IrjBUUxE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pt_dkQK1LQ

And if any of those tiny differences were to be the deciding factor to buy new system, then the choice would be the PC, not PS4. It's not about what matters to me, it's just the truth. People so keen about graphics that would notice the difference between PS4 and XOne game versions plus consider it a deciding factor would then not tolerate playing on a console, only on the PC. That edge that you see on PS4 is a mirage.

You see? So far you weren't able to show me where do you see significant differences between the 8th gen consoles. The only outcome was me going after some names you've thrown and then conclude you're completely wrong. If you still want to prove anything, present some links and point out precisely where and how you see significant differences that put PS4 ahead graphically. For now, you're just making yourself look bad.

Finally, if you don't understand a sarcastic comment followed by a smile, I wonder how you can see graphical differences between PS4 and XOne.

Your response is kind of a contradiction to be honest.  You say that you understand that Japanese people would rather have a Japanese console but then say there's no compelling reason to buy multi-plats on PS4 over Xbox One.

The fact that the PS4 is Japanese is the compelling reason.  What more need be said?

Ignorant people making naive decisions. Yeah, that could work against the XOne and make the PS4 benefit from a non-advantage. But then you're not contradicting my very first comment that started all of this conversation (look at the bold).

Pretty class looking advert, game after game after game, really does make a little wait before a console launches in your area not seem as bad when you have more than 2 games to pick from on launch day.
