3/10

Not enough anime, not enough tits, not enough anime tits, they fail to advertise to their target audience in japan who are more into anime sorta deal than pew pew pew, western stuff

k, looks great but I think they seriouslyj need some more jrpgs though

You think very little of the Japanese gamers. Moreover, naive anime and tits are the easy way. Microsoft is doing it the hard (but right) way. They are showing what they do best and, quite frankly, there's a lot of things on those 3 minutes. The video is very well done and it shows both quality and diversity. 10/10 in my opinion.

Guessing you didn't read the spoiler part? Loll

Guessed wrong. I just didn't know what "jk" meant. I thought it was a game. Now I conclude it's "joking". But then why give a score when you are joking? It didn't seem you were.

Cause thats part of the joke... And the whole "Not enough anime, not enough tits, not enough anime tits" should have given it away loll

22 games in total shown, 14 of which are multiplat, 12 of which are on PS4. The 8 remaining exclusives will not move consoles or anything to write home about to the Japanese audience. No matter how much you like the catchy song, it's not going to be pretty.

Japan isn't going to be sold on that. Hell, Sony is doing abysmal due to their lack of Japanese games. Does Microsoft really think that they can win over Japan with a bunch of western titles and a small handful of Japanese games?

If Sony is doing abysmal, who is doing great on Japan's home console market? PS4 is doing almost 40% of the sales every week in there. That is not abysmal.

The PS3, an older console, is selling just as well as the PS4, even better some weeks. The Wii U is far outpacing it. Yeah, that's pretty abysmmal, especially considering that this has easily been their worst launch ever in Japan, and no notable Japanese games are available and will be available for a while.

Also, how is it accounting for 40% of sales? The PS3 is selling 7,000 units, the PS4 is selling 8,000, and the Wii U is selling 11,000. That's 27%, far behind how well it does in almost every other territory.

Ps3 still games a lot of support and already have a great library of games and Wii u had now a better library then Ps4 ,it would be very bad if Ps4 didn't do well in Japan even with the big games

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Fact is though, there are no big games for the PS4 in Japan.

And there are none on the horizon either, other than FFXV, and who knows when that gets released.

Sony concentrated only on the west this generation, hoping that Japanese loyalty would see thme through, but not this time around. Wii U has superior games everywhere else for now, and yet it still gets outsold by the PS4. Not in Japan though.

That's because all PlayStation systems (since the PS3) became "low burners" in Japan, selling as the anime games came out. That means low sales at the beginning, better sales after some years and good legs at the end. Do you think PS3's first year in Japan was strong in sales? Same thing with PSP, the end years were much better. Same thing is happening with PS Vita. And same thing will happen with PS4. Is this the worst PlayStation launch ever in Japan? Probably yes, and it make sense. The home console market is in constant decline there. I bet the PS5 will also become the worst launch ever in Japan...and then PS6...and then PS7...and so forth. That's the natural trend.

The Wii U is far outpacing PS4? It's selling less than 50% more. I guess Wii did better against the PS3 back in 2006/2007. And we all know how that turned out. I still don't know for sure but I believe PS4 will end up to being the leader in Japan too.

Regarding the weekly sales, you're right. If you consider last gen then PS4 has less market share. But, again, that's because of the new sales trend of PlayStation systems in Japan. I'm not worried at all.

The PS4 is doing worse weekly than the PS3 did in Japan when it came out. And the PS3 was almost twice as expensive for the best models. And yes, you have to consider the PS3, since it's the console of choice right now for devs in Japan. The PS4 has much less support than the PS3 did when it first came out in Japan, and that's saying a lot.

You can't blame Japan's console decline for this. The blame lies on Sony and not making these "anime games" as launch titles.

Are Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy western games?

Those are multiplats. Why buy a xbone for those game when they can just get them on a PS4 made in their country by their people?

Isn't the WiiU doing worse weekly than the Wii when it came out in Japan too? What does that tell you? For me it's pretty obvious: the console market is shrinking there. And the PS3 was 50% more expensive, not almost 100% (as you say).

The PS4 has less Japanese support because: 1 - Its predecessor (PS3) is still on the strong legs period (so devs will take some time to shift to PS4, but they will). 2 - Overall, there is less Japanese support than in 2007. It's not just the Japanese market that is declining, its industry is on the same path too.

As far as I know (or remember), Sony doesn't make "anime games", they are all 3rd party. Sony just needs to be patient.

Then why do Americans buy the PS4? These questions don't make any sense. Both consoles are feasible options for multiplatforms regardless the region in the world that they are on sale.
