Forums - Politics - Will Religion ever be illegal in America?

The people who say that religion will be hunted out also say that the the world will end during that time.

The world won't end. Sin will, and Christ will be king over everyone and every knee shall bow. If people actually read the books of Revelation, Ezekiel, and Daniel they would know this. Now, if your talking about some religion's belief system for the end times, that I don't know. But for Christianity it's very clear that though there will be judgements and the world will be changed forever, it won't end. There is an eternity, just depends where your going to spend it; with God or not with God. I'd prefer to be with God knowing how much HE loves me.

Constant battles with athiest over seperation of Church and State.

Recent wars seem to give Religion a bad name.

Mel Gibson has given it a bad name (See him in Expendables 3 as the bad guy!)

Even Religion itself seems to think that when the end comes, Religious people will be hunted.

Is it coming? Will it be outlawed in the next twenty years?

Given how the Constitution is written, there's no conceivable way for the US to ban religion without a serious overhaul of said document.  Which is highly unlikely given saying you're an atheist or an agnostic is tantamount to political suicide, and it's still illegal in a handful of States to hold public office as an atheist.

When will atheism become illegal?

When the US wants to lose a major chunk of it's brightest thinkers.

Fixed.

They don't need to be hunted. They just need to be taught the error of their ways.

There is no logical way to convince religious people that their faith is wrong for sure. Thats why you cant make atheist out of everyone. its impossible

Nope.

Opressing it would just give the impression that it has any merit.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Sure, because everyone takes Mel Gibson soo seriously!

No, but after a while, people will stop believing in God and religion.

No, and it's better that way. People who would be thankful if religion is banned are just as bad as religious people who would be thankful for having other religions banned or gay marriage banned. Seriously, get over yourself and your ignorance.

What? No!
Do you know how poorly that would go and also how unnecessary it would be?

Not to mention unconstitutional, oppressive, and tyrannical. It's a fool who would wish their government to do such a thing. Government has no such place in people's lives and should have no such power.
