Not zombies in the most traditional sense, but in almost all ways the resemble zombies. They may be technically alive, but they are made to resemble zombies in almost every way, with a few quirks differentiating them a bit.

I edited the OP to make it clearer.

Yeah, but I always try to make the distinction, because if every mindless monster that hunts in horde is considered a zombie, no matter how much humanoid the monster can look, the term "zombie" can loose meaning.

I understand what you're saying. I just associate humans who have lost any sense of reasoning, are taken over by some kind of parasite, and mindlessly go around trying to spread such parasite through biting as zombies. TLOU "zombies" are slighly more creative, but then again, so are the RE zombies.

That actually makes for an interesting discussion. Do you consider RE4's Ganado, zombies?

Yeah, Ganado are more of a "borderline" for me, along with the more advanced enemies in TLOU. They look more human than most zombies and certainly possess some form of basic intelligence, so they aren't mindless, which is a fundamental part of my definition. At the same time, they are infected and controlled by parasites, so it's kinda in the grey area.

Not until I get my HD remake of Resident Evil 2.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Stop writing to any companies about zombies in general... Like fuck... We need original ideas, not reused zombie shit

Hmmm... well, I guess there's not a true zombie definition. Especially when movies of the same genre tend to paint the zombies in different shapes, (like, for example, 28 Days Later with its running zombies. I personally don't like running zombies xD)

Lol, yeah, the definition has been mutated so much recently, with everyone wanting to get a new spin on the zombie concept. They want the allure of zombies, while still wanting to be original, so it's hard to get any concrete definition.

I tend to use the word "zombie" as a blanket term for mindless humans that try to propogate their condition to other humans, so that would include undead and infected. I admit it's not accurate, but I tend to classify zombie fiction more by the survival aspect over the actual origin of the monsters/creatures/dead humans/what-have-you.

Anyways, I partially agree, as I've long since lost interest in zombie/infected fiction. That being said...if other people are interested, it wouldn't make much sense to ignore those types of games either. I'd just like to hope Sony can continue to release a broad spectrum of games, which is something they don't seem to have an issue with.

Personally, I'm not a fan of mindless enemies, zombie or otherwise. Zombie horde games, especially, turn into a chore for me.

I don't mind them IN games, like those in Fallout 3/NV, as they do given an eeriness and sense of fear in small doses, but all of that is lost when they're the focal point or they're just target practice dummies. I don't really mind them when they're tough and not to be taken lightly, either. Something like Dead Rising, though? Not my cup of tea.

There's so many zombie games these days. Last of Us, Dead Island, H1Z1, DayZ, Sunset Overdrive, The Walking Dead, a bunch of spinoff DLCs, and hordes more are infesting gaming. I mean, it was cool when there were only a few zombie games like Resident Evil or Left 4 Dead, but now almost everything has zombies, and if the main game doesn't have zombies then DLCs will surely bring them. I don't know about you, but I think devs can be a lot more creative.

"A common theme that you guys wrote in about was zombies. I mean, who doesn't love us some zombie action?"

So seriously, stahp writing to Sony damnit before they make zombie Knack or another horrendous abomination.

EDIT: And by zombies I mean anything that is infected, disfigured, and mindless killers, whether or not it strictly fits the definition of a zombie.

Amen.  There are WAYYYYY to many zombie games these days...
