A zombie is a dead person which becomes reanimated into something different.  In TLOU the infected hasnt died. They are still alive but are just unable to control their bodies.  It is like the bug in limbo if you ever played that.  I wouldnt call that a zombie. Go look up cordyceps. There is a clear difference between original zombie lore and rabies like infections but sadly modern media takes too much liberties when making something zombie related that people gets confused about the two.  It would be like if werewolves and vampires were suddenly seen as the same thing in the general publics eyes

It looks like a zombie. It acts like a zombie. It's a zombie.

It even bites people as its way of spreading the infextion. Just because ND put a slight spin on it doesn't mean it's not a zombie.

What if I draw a fishy and move it around like a fish?

Is it a fish or is it a drawing?

So if a creature has rabies, is it a zombie?  It bites too!

Zombies are a different type of enemy.  Humans are majorly popular as enemies and characters.  Should we ask for less of those?  It doesn't seem very creative if you ask me.  Why are zombies interesting?

Yeah, we should if we feel they are getting bland. At least with humans there can be different types of enemies, with zombies they all look the same, have the same mindless killing instinct, and follow a similar story archetype. Zombies are in so many games now, even if the game shouldn't have anything to do with zombies.

With humans, you can have a million different settings, different personalities, different atmospheres. In zombie games, it's very similar game-to-game. Almost always post-apocalyptic, someone gets infected, rest of humanity has to survive. It's practically its own genre now, like RPGs or platformers.

I still think that this "written letters by fans" was completely fabricated bullshit. This would be the optimal scenario.
The worse scenario would be that Sony actually got these letters and is so out of touch with gaming that they actually believed we need more zombie games. That one is a lot bleaker.

It's scary that they actual listened to the general public. The people don't know what they want, those fan letters would only make stupid things happen. Case in point, this, if Sony was actually serious.

TLOU isn't a zombie game.

Sure it's not.

Consider zombies a variation on humans, with numerous variations of its own.  I'm personally not in the opinion that they are getting bland.  Quit playing zombie games if they are getting bland.  They may have made zombie DLC, but that doesn't affect the main game, it just adds a new spin to the game.  What's wrong with optional variation?  There are numerous other types of games, lots of dragon games.

Difference is dragon games don't have practically an entire genre dedicated to them.

You're right though, I tend to stay away from zombie games. Speaking my mind against them is also within my right, just as you liking them is yours. Zombie has become what FPS was last generation. A lot of people love them, but a lot of people also wish devs would spend time on more original content.

If you feel that zombies aren't represented enough, feel free to make your own thread.
