It looks like a zombie. It acts like a zombie. It's a zombie.

It even bites people as its way of spreading the infextion. Just because ND put a slight spin on it doesn't mean it's not a zombie. 

What if I draw a fishy and move it around like a fish?  

Is it a fish or is it a drawing?  

So if a creature has rabies, is it a zombie?  It bites too!

Zombies are a different type of enemy.  Humans are majorly popular as enemies and characters.  Should we ask for less of those?  It doesn't seem very creative if you ask me.  Why are zombies interesting?  

Yeah, we should if we feel they are getting bland. At least with humans there can be different types of enemies, with zombies they all look the same, have the same mindless killing instinct, and follow a similar story archetype. Zombies are in so many games now, even if the game shouldn't have anything to do with zombies. 

With humans, you can have a million different settings, different personalities, different atmospheres. In zombie games, it's very similar game-to-game. Almost always post-apocalyptic, someone gets infected, rest of humanity has to survive. It's practically its own genre now, like RPGs or platformers.
