Forums - Gaming - [Poll] Stop writing to Sony about how much you love zombies

Do you think there's too much zombie love?

There's so many zombie games these days. Last of Us, Dead Island, H1Z1, DayZ, Sunset Overdrive, The Walking Dead, a bunch of spinoff DLCs, and hordes more are infesting gaming. I mean, it was cool when there were only a few zombie games like Resident Evil or Left 4 Dead, but now almost everything has zombies, and if the main game doesn't have zombies then DLCs will surely bring them. I don't know about you, but I think devs can be a lot more creative.

"A common theme that you guys wrote in about was zombies. I mean, who doesn't love us some zombie action?"
- Sony E3 2014

So seriously, stahp writing to Sony damnit before they make zombie Knack or another horrendous abomination.

EDIT: And by zombies I mean anything that is infected, disfigured, and mindless killers, whether or not it strictly fits the definition of a zombie.

TLOU isn't a zombie game.

As a zombie fan, I'm displeased that you consider infected from Sunset Overdrive or The Last of Us "zombies".

Yeah, there are way too many Zombie games now,

Zombies meaning infected humans that create a survival element, then yes. Way too common.

Define "zombie"

Looks zombie enough to me. Same concept and all for the most part (humans get infected and turn into mindless killers)

These creatures aren't undead. They're living, brainwashed by a natural parasite, fungus. They're intelligent, as they use echolochation to locate their victims, despite being blind, and the fungus can evolve to become an even more deadly hunter.

I guess you could say they're zombies because they bite their prey...I guess. The concept of these infected is the same of the zombies of World War Z, though. The reason they exist, I mean.

Not zombies in the most traditional sense, but in almost all ways they resemble zombies. They may be technically alive, but they are made to resemble zombies in almost every way, with a few quirks differentiating them a bit.

I edited the OP to make it clearer.

Yeah, but I always try to make the distinction, because if every mindless monster that hunts in horde is considered a zombie, no matter how much humanoid the monster can look, the term "zombie" can loose meaning.
