First of all. He was laid off. Not fired. Maybe he's not a native speaker and doesn't know the difference but it's obvious from his post and the title that the company is downsizing. As for working better or harder guaranteeing that all those people wouldn't be laid off... well I don't knwo what to say apart from it really doesn't always work like that in the real world. As an employee there's usually little difference that a single person can make when he doesn't have nay control of the company. Had he been fired, you'd perhaps have a point.

Sorry about your losing your job...I can understand why though...it's kinda hard to sell an OS when the government bans it's use!  I feel even more sorry, though, for those still left and moving to the Xbox division.  At least at Huaweii (spelling?  Sorry!) has a future in China....I'm not so sure about MS.

Sorry to hear that. Microsoft did say that because of piracy, China only accounts for a small percentage of Microsoft's revenue even though it should be a market the same size as the United States for them.

I was also going to say sorry, but you got a new job! Whatever.
I had lost my previous job years ago when my company decided to outsource to China so anything involving China is a mixed feelings.

And this, my friends, is why you should always read the OP before commenting.
