I would've missed out on great games either way. I do research before buying anything. I believe I made the right choice. (I never fall for fake hype)

Then why are you buying a PS4? I've owned the thing since launch and it has practically nothing of note right now, and it's holiday titles are looking slim, at best. Even Arkham Knight got delayed to 2015, and that was one of the few next gen only titles of note.
Frankly, I'd tell you to hold off on selling your Wii U so you can enjoy stuff like Smash Bros and Bayonetta 2 while you wait for the PS4 to get some more worthy titles. But since it's too late for that...
Go buy a PS3. Or a 360. Just please, don't waste your money on one of the new consoles this year, it's not worth it. PS3 and 360 both have more then enough spectacular titles to last you years, and they can both be had, together, for the same price as a PS4.
As for what you should get? Well......Assassin's Creed 4 is probably the second best game on the system right now (which you could have gotten on Wii U for a minor graphical downgrade). Battlefield 4 is a good FPS and was the best looking launch title, though the damn thing was buggy as hell last I checked and kept crashing. Killzone is a decent FPS, though oddly enough doesn't look nearly as good as the multigenerational Battlefield 4, and is overall pretty generic. If you like hard as nails space sims, Strike Suit Zero is a pretty fun time, albeit it's got nothing on the PC space shooters of the 90s. I've also been hearing great things about Wolfenstein the New Order, though again this is a game you can get on PS3 and 360 with nothing more then a graphica downgrade.
Honestly, the only really great game on the PS4 is Infamous Second Son. It's kind of short for an open world title, but it's got great combat and creative powers, and it looks gorgeous. Story is solid, though I know a lot of people don't care for the main character because he's got a bit of an attitude problem.
So yeah, one great game, and a slate of good multiplatform titles and a few other mediocre exclusives. Again, I would really recommend PS3 or 360 (or both). Or just going back and getting your Wii U and holding onto it for one more year.
Just whatever you do, don't buy Knack....it is really bland.

1- Should not have sold your Wii U, I see no point in selling something for less than what you pay. 2- Buy a PS3 instead. Its much cheaper and has a much better library. It will keep you occupied until getting a PS4 is worth it/reduced in price.

you do not own a PS4. I may even go as far as say you don't have a PS3. Cause only someone that is one or the other or both will say what you have just said. How does it make sense for someone to buy a last gen console that costs $250 so he can play older games that are coming to a PSnow service when he could add $150 on that amount and get a new console and the best version of al the new games??????? Also meaning that for the next 6-7yrs he doesn't have to buy a console again. And you are Talking like there is absolutely nothing to play on the PS4. I don't get some people really.
The lenghts some people will go to just to stop someone from buying a PS4 lol... did sony do something to you?

PSNow is an unproven service using technology that I, at least, have never had a good experience with. I got a BETA code from my E3 trip, but the horrendous pricing model totally turned me off trying out any of the more graphicaly intensive games. Not sure it would have mattered though since I couldn't get even the free games to work. I'm gonna be trying a new connection set up soon, but well....
You can get a PS3 for $200 used, and even less used, and those $250 often come bundled with other games. It's a better deal. Not to mention, you get access to the ENTIRE library and USED games, rather then having to rent games over the cloud, some games for more then what they cost to buy on PSN. XD
