Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sony lowers The Last of Us: Remastered price, refuses to give people a refund (UPDATE: Sony has said they will refund customers)

I'd be outraged, but I'm glad to see people actual recognize this is a problem, unlike that other thing...
Regardless its terrible, but if it was contractual, there is really nothing we can do.

I love how some fans take chances hammering Sony, whenever it makes some mistake. And then Sony fixes issues and there's nowhere to those be seen apologizing, the same people that hammers Sony in articles like these. WHYYYYY

The fault is on Sony's side here. There's no reason for anyone to apologize when they eventually do the right thing, which they will.

I mean, when a fast food place messes your order up, do you feel wrong or like you are "hammering" them to go back and have them make it the way you ordered it? And when they make it right, do you feel you need to apologize to them?

Sadly the corporate apologizing in this thread is a prime example of why the US will never have the nicer consumer laws other countries have. I mean there are people in this thread actually saying people deserve to pay over the MSRP just because they had the audacity to preorder a game lol.

Lol. You have no idea what you're talking about. Sony hasn't messed up anything, like the fast food place in your example. They still deliver the agreed product for the agreed price. There is no fault on their side. If the gamer is a sucker - so be it! To hell with people killing retail!

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Knowing Sony, they'll fix this.

Yes they should most definitely be refunding and I expect them to do this soon. It would be a pretty shitty move if they didnt.

The US-PSN prices are a bargain compared to the European prices. I have to order some US-PS Store gift cards and switch accounts before buying PS4 games!

Destiny / Dragon Age Inquisition / Battlefield Hardline: $59.99 + taxes vs. €69.99 ($95.18, taxes included)

Deluxe versions:  $69.99 + taxes vs. €79.99 ($108.78, taxes included)

I never understood this....

"hey cool a game I like and I think it is worth 60 bucks thats why I am spending 60 bucks on it"

then

"what? a price drop It was never worth 60 bucks I feel like I am entitled to 10 bucks refund now. FU sony"

Seriously dont buy games full price so you dont need to complain about a price drop. I stopped buying full price when I was 12 years old or so.....

I'm not sure how this applies to this situation. The game has yet to be released. It would be different if the game was already out and then the price dropped later on.

How the fuck is getting something you didn't ask for the same as getting something you agreed to pay for at a certain price

Cmon, it's not hard. They are both examples of a business fucking up. And are both instances where the consumer needs not apologize or feel bad because the company fucked up.

Also, preorders are generally made for the retail price. I have never seen a situation where a company takes a full price for a preorder, then lowers the price, and does not refund the difference. Like I said before and like it has been pointed out by others, if Amazon or Gamestop or any other place that sells preorders had a preordered game drop in price, you'd either:

1. Be refunded the difference if you have already paid the full price.
2. Have your remaining balance reflect the new price.

This is elementary, standard stuff. I can understand not caring because it really doesn't affect you, but blaming people for actually preordering the game. Insanity. Hilarious, corporate apologetic insanity. And you work retail, so your defending it and blaming customers is even funnier.

Looks like they are issuing a refund.

That's the price you pay when you pre-order. Sucks for those people.

1) Even though its in the fine print, its ridiculous that sony would do that. Horrendous customer service right there.

Now with that said....

2) Why pre-order a *digital* game that far in advance? Maybe this is just me, but I would wait until the last minute before you could pre-load it to still get the bonuses. You literally miss out on nothing by waiting.

1) Its not in fine prints its written in capital letters and is super evident.

2) Agreed but when you do preorder youre agreing to the capital letters saying no refunds or cancelations and shouldnt realy be complaining when you get no refounds
