Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo’s Wii (Wii U) Infringed Philips Patents, U.K. Court Says

The interesting thing is that the US lawsuit is suing to stop all sales of Wii and Wii U.

Which doesn't make sense to me, they should stop sales of wiimotes, the hardware just reads what the wiimote says, but it doesn't contain the technologie sued(I think ?)

Yet if they lose, I hope for a Wavebird situation where Nintendo make appeal, allowing them to keep selling until the new process takes place.

Stupid patent trolls. Instead of filing so many patents, they should try making something that doesn't suck. And my TV sadly is from Philips.

Philips is not a patent troll, they are a very innovative compagny. The fact you have a TV from them says enough, patent trolls don't produce actual products.

wow Philips just because even the Wii U is doing better than your shitty CD-i doesn't mean you need to hate on it

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

TV is actual product ??
Samsung is innovating in the TV area. I didn't see much from Philips on the TV market recently.

True, not recently. And I don't like the law suits but calling a compagny which exists for over more than 100 years and has contributed a lot to modern day technology a patent troll doesn't seem right to me.

edit: With 'actual' I meant a physical product.

They need a lawsuit for that? :-O I taught Nintendo was making a darn good job, by not providing enough MK8 bundles

But in all seriousness. In worst case they will settle out of court. Why is everyone making such a huge fuss about it?

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Brb, throwing my Philips products on the street
