Philips is not a patent troll, they are a very innovative compagny. The fact you have a TV from them says enough, patent trolls don't produce actual products.

Samsung is innovating in the TV area. I didn't see much from Philips on the TV market recently.

True, not recently. And I don't like the law suits but calling a compagny which exists for over more than 100 years and has contributed a lot to modern day technology a patent troll doesn't seem right to me. 

edit: With 'actual' I meant a physical product.
