I'm rather much against voice acting in Zelda.
Not everything about the game has to move towards feature animation or go the cinematic route. Quite a hefty part of Zelda is the picture book aesthetic, with strong compositions during dialog sequences, where you read the always rather simple and poignant text, and "turn the page," by pressing A to move on.
A lot of my enjoyment from Zelda comes from trying to either imagine the voices, or play the characters myself when I read it.
To me, even the very best voice acting would take away more from the experience than it adds, so when you add to that the insane amount of work it would be to record it and lip-sync it and add real-time expressive gestures to talking characters and make sure that all of this happened at a time AFTER the dialog was completely locked down, it just doesn't make sense to me. And then comes all the considerations of whether you should allow the player to cut characters off during dialog blurbs, if you should still be allowed to wait with progressing long after they've spoken, and what these do to the emotional impact of the moments.
Spend the time and money elsewhere.
I do not like voice acting.
It would be ok if it was like them saying stuff in a wierd mumble like midna did, or speaking hylian id be pretty ok with that but straight up voice acting is a no go.
Link should never have a voice.
OR
Hire 20 different voice actors and sell their voices as DLC. So everyone who wants Link to have a voice can buy the one (s)he wants :)

Voice acting is not where I want them to spend limited time and money, that's one thing for sure. But, if they DO go for voice acting... I certainly want them to spend A LOT of time and money on it.
I've seen and heard voice acting in big budget Japanese games from the likes of Final Fantasy, and I'm not sure it would do all that much for me in Zelda. The way characters interact in Zelda is a little different because there's no speech. I wouldn't harp on it if they do it well but I think it will be different. I also would probably not feel reduced enjoyment if it lacks voice acting.
So I kind of get where Aonouma is going with "Does that add to the experience? It might actually just make it the same as a lot of other games.". But if they're ambitious they could indeed do something great with voice and change the series up even more.

I'm quite convinced they definitely won't include any voiceacting whatsoever for any of the characters in the new Zelda, apart from the usual gasps, screams and shouts etc.

I don't think anyone has ever asked for Link to talk. But not having voice acting for the rest of the characters is getting to the point of being simply unacceptable. Zelda Wii U absolutely needs to have the NPC's talking or it's simply never going to have the immersion of most other modern games.
I don't mind if it stays as it is, with the grunts and gibberish speech, but I also wouldn't mind if they gave the human characters a real voice. If it's done well.
Link however, should always stay silent.
I am waiting for no voice acting until technology is good enough for Nintendo to have characters speak in Hylian without expensive voice actors. Link is a silent protagonist and thereforr should not speak.
Fans went militant when Samus started talking...
Anyone who thinks the same thing won't happen when Link, Zelda, and Ganon open their mouths is just being silly...
Have a nice day...
