I accidentally hit Microsoft, and I forgot to change it to Nintendo! Just realized that...
Yes. And, if it's done well and not as clunky as hell as the Gamepad then I might actually like it. I enjoyed the WiiMote's abilities in certain games... that was probably because they actually put that gimmick to work.

EDIT: Wait a minute. Why is this thread in the Microsoft Discussion board? |
Touch controls on capactive multitouch screens. Practically unpioneered territory even though they are on billions of devices. Though that would be far better for their handheld and not a home console.
I like and take advantage of the gamepads features. I don't view it as a gimmick but a controller with added features.
I'm wondering if both Nintendo and Sony will. Nintendo has the screen and Sony followed up with their colored lights and a touchpad. It will be interesting to see what both companies do next time

I remember when the snes came out and I held the controller for the first time and it felt so awkward I hated it. Then street fighter 2 came out. . . But yeah, if something becomes an industry standard then I don't think it can be called a gimmick.
Gamepad with gyro controls will stay. I wouldn't be surprised if new pro controller would have smaller touch screen included as well. By that time this technology will be cheap as chips. I'm not so sure about motion controls. It depends on how much backwards compatible they want the new consol be. Personally I think they'll be optional. Are they gonna include something extra? Apart from Nintendo, no one knows.
