Honestly, I just think the space could be better used by another character.  Ice Climber would have been forgotten long long ago if not for their appearance in Melee, and there are a lot of other characters who could be highlighted with that spot.  Like Squirtle...


I usually agree wth many things you post here but i have to disagree here. Its true that Ice Climbers are only popular cuz of SSB, but so are another 20% of the roster. They are unique (Rosalina is still very different) and more importantly they represent a franchise of nintendo.

No need to add characters from 1 time or small franchises, but non the less i think they should always stay in SSB. Personally i want a SSB game where the roster has at least 1 rep per franchise instead of many (exception of Mario+pokemon as those are huge).

(Finally added to this game) 9 newcomers so far , 6 franchise representation lol!

Little Mac (Punch Out)

Villager (Animal Crossing)

Wii Fit Trainer (Wii Fit)

Megaman (Megaman)

Mii Fighters (Wii Series + Represents Nintendo kinda now)

Pacman (Pacman)

 

You get what I mean, this characters are enough to represent 1 franchise and thats all we need, Ice Climbers is one of them. Also for newbies (you can comment if you like for these :P)

~Saki (Sin+Punishment)  too bad he's confirmed for an assist trophy

~Isaac (Golden Sun)

~Takamaru (WTH is his franchise called?)

~Shulk (Xenoblade or Monolith representative)  *Hinted as newcomer

~Chorus Men (Rhytym Heaven) *Hinted as newcomer

~Inkling (Splatoon) Well this one is personal! :0

MetaKnight needs to come back because he was the coolest.

Metaknight is cool, definitely returning imo. Unique character that just needs to be toned down. Though Kirby franchise has 3 reps, i would love (i kno its not happening) to see Bandana Dee in the game

I hope he still hits like a train in Smah 4. The damage he outputs is so brutal and satisfying.

Keep the same build (power/speed/weight/etc), just needs some tweeking with attacks and all specials need to be changed!!!

You never kno, at first many will hate them at first just like Mr G+W/ROB/Wii Fit Trainer, then Bammm! Everybody loves them or they get a fanbase :0
