Sonic 3 & Knuckles is a good example of platforming bliss at its finest, while SA2 is not even the best 3D Sonic game ever made!

1. Sonic 4, Episode 1 had around 11 or 12 stages, didn't it? You probably meant worlds, though.

Well, Sonic Lost World looks like Sonic Xtreme, but, I haven't played it yet, so I can't speak on it.  Angle Island Act 2 is the same stage as act 1 as far as I'm concerned.  That's like multiplying character styles in MKX to say there's 72 characters in the game, or some BS like that.  Stop kidding yourself.

It's been too many years since I played heroes.  Can't make a solid opinion on it.  Never played colors, and generations just didn't feel right.  If I want classic sonic games done right, it's a shame I have to resort to my genesis.  Physics are waay off in generations.  I've played the genesis titles so much that it's instantly noticable to me and I just can't bare it.

There are just some instances where he completely stops, or wont go through a loop when I know he has enough momentum to do it.  It dulls the experience.  I can't even excuse it, because the original games are over 20 years old.  It shouldn't just match the genesis in terms of the way momentum is distributed, it should surpass it.  But, it's worse...  On decades older hardware?...

Got Sonic CD on PS3, and foolishly bought it for my smartphone.  Great game.  I had it on pc, and to be honest, that game is tied with Sonic 3 & Knuckles in terms of my favorite sonic game.  Sonic CD used to be my favorite, but, that was only because my PC copy of the game disc had snapped in half.  Once I got it on PS3, I still enjoyed it, but I can't say that it's better than S3&K.

Now had Sonic 3 and knuckles had time travel like they planned to do with Sonic 2....  Well...  then S3&K would be everyone's favorite.

But, Sonic CD was planned to be released before Sonic 2.  Sonic 2 then had 4 zones cut from the final game, with Death Egg and Hidden Palace being re-imagined, but the rest were left behind.  And so did the time traveling element of the game.  Had Sonic 2 retained all that stuff, sonic 3 would have been better.
