What do you think Nintendo needs to do to win next gen?

Depends fusion sounds good. Maybe New gimmick. Let's see how QOL goes before we judge.

Nintendo can't win by catering to core gamers anymore. Their reputation would need a massive change for that to happen. After the Wii, the only realistic way they can "win" again is to gain mass market appeal. Otherwise, they will keep selling to only the nintendo faithful for the most part

Working together with third parties after and before finishing the console to ensure third party support, would be a start.

Yeah. They need to start mending old wounds now.

Somehow get 3rd parties on board for the entire generation would be a good start. In this day and age, it's impossible for a console to win a generation without the backing of the massive ocean of third party developers.

1. Amaizing launch lineup and advertisement of console after a HYPE digital evet/e3.

2. Plenty of great games, FAST. Therefore, a MK, Smash, Pokémon or something fans want a ton within a year.

3.As powerful / more than the rest, yet still the cheapest.

4. High standard advertisements, mk8 was a great example of that from Nintendo(well.......basically the first this gen,)

I think that's it.

that blue ocean, get another gimmick they like and they'll sell

1. Not go broke with the Wii U
2. Sell 220 million Wii 3's

Make a non gimmicky console,a modern style SNES controller that would be extremely comfortable, have actual third party support (as much as PS4/XBO), and have the hardware up to date with a reasonable price. Console with Nintendo exclusives+Third Party Games=FREEEEE MONNNEEY

This is why Nintendo won the 4th gen (that is SNES/Gen btw). Nintendo had the exact third party support as Sega and the graphics were comparble.
