Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft CEO: “Nintendo has to perform this year, otherwise they will have less games”

Please Ubi, dont quit making crappy dance games and the worst version of your regular games for the U.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Sorry guys isn't the X1 performing worst than WiiU?
i mean isn't the market performing very badly overall?

Even though there are less Xbox One consoles on the market compared to Wii U consoles, Ubisoft's games still sell much better on Xbox One. For example, AC4 sold 0.79M on XOne versus 0.18 on WiiU.

I agree with your graph ..but put a graph of child of light, raymans legend and just dance 2014 and it will tell a different story than this graph as with the right type of games and right marketing wii u can sell on third parties ...just saying

You're right. There are certain 3rd party games that have sales that are closer to other consoles, like Just Dance and Rayman Legends. What does that tell us though? Wii U owners are less interested in games like Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty, and more interested in games like Rayman Legends and Just Dance. Ubisoft will probably continue releasing games like Just Dance on the Wii U, but they will probably pass on creating the next Assassin's Creed for Wii U.

I don't think people are less interested in Ubisoft 3rd party ..I just think they don't advertise or put much emphasis in the wii u version just look at assasins creed or call of duty ..they have you in a mystery until the last month if it's even coming to the wii u or in commercials they would show every version box art except the wii u and it's being released on the wii u ...if they show more emphasis in the wii u maybe people will buy it more ...like show what it could do with the second screen etc

not true at all. AC ads shows ALL versions. Ive seenit on billboards. Unless they have exclusve ads (i think with Sony). Same for COD wish people actually did research, MS has had exclusive ads for YEARS. Funny enough doesnt stop PS version from doing good. So clearly ads arent the problem and lets be real. Its 2014 how easy would it be to find out what is released for what system? A click away. So its not the ads, thats a sad excuse.

It comes down to two reasons. People have other consoles besides Wii U( and judging from sales this is likely) so they choose to play on those especially since COD is so MP heavy. OR the Wii U demograph is not that interested. Pick one.

Still think a price cut is insane, and the problem lies in zero 3rd party exclusive MP experiences.

Yet they're doing stuff for XB1, who has a lower install base... logic ubisoft

There games actually sell on xb1 and the system itself is doing better than WIi U in the same time fram. Logic, right?

lets be real, it makes no sense for 3rd parties to waste money on exclusives for Wii U when the system is doing the worse of the current gen consoles AND past sales have been terrible.

This is pretty much what EA said but way more PC. Its all true whether people want to believe it or not. As we stop doing cross gen games. Wii U might be screwed. IT will be Wii situation but worse. At least Wii had the numbers to justify trying to get some ports on it and it could support cheap shovelware. the Wii U cant do either.

People can try to spin it the way they want. However it still remains that going by his logic, hes harping in SMALL install bases. Using his current logic, they wouldnt be supporting XB1(at this time) due to the fact that they have an even smaller install base  than Wii U.  He makes himself out to look hypocritical. Were not talking about this or that, were talking about his direct statement which he calls out SMALL install bases(Wii U),but is 100% on board with XB1,who's install base(at this point in time) is small than Wii U.

Pretty straight forward. Now obviously XB1 can outsell Wii U life time sales this year or next depending on the software, however at this point in time the install base is lower for XB1 than Wii U so it makes this guys logic flawed at this point in time

It's not Nintendo's fault that they keep delaying their games on the Wii U. What does Ubisoft expect to sell when they do that? Same old excuses, different time.

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

They're basically demanding a price drop.

As they should. A $199.99 Wii-U at this point would be like sprinkling magic pixie dust on the thing.
