Buying Capcom is worth it to Nintendo because it moves hardware. Regardless of the money made of actual software sold by Capcom, the hardware units sold by complete Capcom software exclusivity is worth it. If Nintendo sold an extra 5 million Wii U's because of the Capcom software, it would make back the purchase price in this generation alone.

No worries, my grammar wasn't great there.  I think Capcom is a unique potential acquisition becuase it does have some valuable name brands and also significant production capacity, while being relatively affordable at 1.5B$ or so.  RE exclusivity would move a few million extra Wii U's just like MH helped 3DS stay relevant despite the shrinking handheld market.  If Dead Rising 3 and Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisin had been released for Wii U during the past year at intervals between Nintendo's releases, no one would be complaining about software droughts.

Capcom is currently worth around $1 billion in market cap, so about $500 million would be enough to guarantee a majority stake in the company.

Actually, that's not a too far-fetched of an idea. Microsoft has the capital and enough interest in the Japanese market to acquire a company like Capcom. An acquisition like that would surely open the doors of Nippon to Microsoft. And considering that they already have an exclusive deal on Dead Rising...

I don't think Cap is going anywhere. They still have games making tons of profit, despite some ups and downs. These news mean nothing to me.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

I think Nintendo should buy Capcom, not only for the IPs, but also to get more developers. Remember the first year of the WiiU and its lack of games? I remember reading somewhere Nintendo was caught off guard with the costs and manpower necessaries to create games in HD, so more experienced developers would help keep the stream of games coming to the console.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

If Nintendo needs to buy Capcom in order for Mega Man Legends 3 to come out before 2060, then yes! Nintendo should fucking buy Capcom!

The creepy old Pokemon trainer is right!

No, and it won't happen anyway. Wouldn't make any sense at all. Turn a 3rd party into a 1st party and you instantly lose most of the fanbase. Sounds great, doesn't it?

Uh, so which Microsoft Rare games are you comparing to which Nintendo Rare games?

You're missing the point. Nintendo fans would have embraced Rare's Xbox games more. Rare's Xbox games were solid, just the wrong audience. Simple as that.

Its kinda like JRPGs that were exclusive to Xbox. They were solid games but the Playstation audience would have embraced them more.

Get the idea?
