How many 60fps open world games do we have? On consoles of course. I don't remember a big stink when games like GTA V, SR4, Borderlands 2, any of the Bethesda open world gems, Red Dead Redemption, etc were 30 fps or worse. Even this gen, when a game like Infamous 3 was announced as 30 fps, it wasn't criticized, it was actually applauded by users here.

Yeah, but that game was for Playstation, big difference ;).

Which begs the question, why isn't the game optimized better when it's an exclusive? This game would really benefit from a higher frame rate, like other people have pointed out.

Being exclusive doesn't mean developers mastered the hardware. Its clear X1 is something developers are still learning to work with.

Its funny, people are obviously ignoring the progress we've seen in a relatively short time just because its not parity.

Lastly, just about every game benefits from a higher frame rate. I can't think of a single game that left me feeling 30 fps is ideal.

All consoles progress no one is denying that. The are just stamping home the FACT that there is a hardware gap regardless if some choose to believe it and make silly threads about it closing. Any software advancements the one makes the PS4 can as well

Again, this game looks gorgeous. I like these type of art style. Not all games need to be 1080p.

This.  Just not sure if it is going to be my type of game but will probably give it a shot.

They're just making it look the best they can, i'm sure next year optimisation will be susses and 1080p 30 FPS will be a staple, sub 1080p and 60FPS where needed. When it comes to insomniac they really understood the PS3, if they stay exclusive to XB1 i'm sure they'll manage the same, if...

Buying order: Switch, better pc

They should've aimed for 60fps...

^ or solid 60fps @ 720. Hell millions of players only have old 720 TVs anyway. Why not at least have a menu option for multiple resolutions.

Because these are closed systems, not PCs.  They are not going to give you options on resolution.

Mostly because it's a shooter and it would go better with the flow of the game. I do understand the game is open world, I guess I just expected more.

We're seeing racers and shooters running 30 fps on both X1 and PS4. Its clear 60 fps just isn't a huge priority for many developers.
