I'm not sure if they did ignore the "resolution whores".
Its resolution is better than dead rising, but its graphics are not half as good.

I disagree.... I prefer SO artstyle... but that's complete taste
can't really compare both... the only way would be too know polygon counts on screen and texture res and number environemental effect (static and dynamic) etc etc etc...
bottom like res doesn't mean shit if your game is hugly... and I'd rather see more devs work on actual graphic content than res.... get me more effects, more AI, more dynamic lightning, extra particules before you start pushing for 1080p.... heck even push fps before you push 1080p.... tha's what I want... and everybody ON CONSOLE whining for 1080p/60fps are just ignorant idiots that are damaging the quality of the gaming market....
it's like if everybody were whining to have 3D movies regardless of quality of the content....
