It's definitely a bad thing for Nintendo because people want to see good games. See E3 2011 and 2012 for evidence. Terrible showings.

Are you implying that multiplats are bad games? O.o. I'd actually agree that Ninty needs to show more exclusives vs the competition simply because there is no point getting their console if 90% of the games you're interested in are multiplatform.

A good thing, only a bad thing for people who need exclusive ammo for console wars.

Exactly, perfectly said.

I also want to mention indies. I cringe everytime I see a narrow minded gamer  complain how all indies suck.... They don;t and are really important, why do people want an industry where only the big AAA marketed games have a chance? An industry where even small devs can be successfull is only a good thing. That indie dev you bashed in 5 years time could be the next big AAA developer. Many of the games you play today started from a smaller group of indie devs.

If you go to Youtube you'll see those narrow minded gamers by the dozens, mindlessly hating the games because they are "indies" and giving out laughable names to the PS4 like "Indiestation". They can't or don't want to see anything apart from first person shooters, so they mock what they don't understand.

This being vgc it only makes sense more vote no.

Fact is 3rd parties are the industry, they are imperative to its survival and growth. Thus the most successful hardware maker should work well with them and support each other.

That's sad.

Well, multiplats certainly aren't interesting games, so they are a waste of time.

The question that people are asking is "Why should I buy a Nintendo console?", multiplatform games would only matter if someone asked "Why should a Nintendo console be the only one I'll buy this generation?", but hardly anybody does that.

What? The only question I've ever asked was "does this console have a lot of games I'm interested in?" that's about it. Why are multiplats uninteresting? Not sure if I get the logic...

If people really feel the way you do, it's no wonder this console war BS is so prevalent

The purpose of an E3 conference is to highlight your console's strengths. You're not doing that by showcasing games that are on the competing system.

Plus, any display of a third party game at a Sony/MS conference is usually followed by announcement of exclusive content/(newly) an exclusive beta. And those are just irritating.

I seem to remember seeing a thread with exactly the same title shortly after e3.

I 100% think it's a bad thing. Every time Microsoft or Sony revealed a multiplat at their conference, it did nothing for me . I don't care that you have exclusive content for a multiplat, I care about what games you have that other systems don't.

I found myself extremely annoyed with Sony this year. Multiplat after multiplat after multiplat. Ffs, they opened up with Destiny, a multiplat. The exclusives they did show (aside from Bloodborne) bored me.

Multiplats are bad only if their names contain " Call of Duty" or " Battlefield"!

Since multiplats were, are and always will be most important for my game diet, I consider that a good thing.

Less leaks pre-E3 would be even better.
