The purpose of an E3 conference is to highlight your console's strengths. You're not doing that by showcasing games that are on the competing system.
Plus, any display of a third party game at a Sony/MS conference is usually followed by announcement of exclusive content/(newly) an exclusive beta. And those are just irritating.
