Forums - Gaming - Interesting facts about E3

Interesting, so between MS and sony, despite all the TV talk, it was only a difference of like 2 minutes worth of talk about games

But.....they spent soooooo much time talking about TV (i.e. 20 minutes, even though half of that was gaming related; PS4 remote play, PS Now via PSTV, etc.) so that disqualifies Sony from having a good conference!

OT: Sony showed more games, a higher percentage of those more games were exclusive, and the only reason MS had more games for 2014 than Sony is because Sony talked more about new games, not games we already knew about last year. Which is what E3 is about: building anticipation for newer games, not pandering to what's been anticipated for a year already

This little infographic should take the "MS had a better conference" statements, knock them unconscious with a club to the dome, then shoot them in the head while they don't know about it.

If it's true that the Treehouse event wasn't counted in the chart then it should be redone because Nintendo's treehouse event was apart of their overall E3 presentation. It would be interesting to see the chart with that event added in

Why should it be counted, or how was it a part of their original show? If that is the case then they should also add all the footage from things like the sony live coverage and interviews they did after their conference...... I think its great that he based the dat primarily on the core parts of everyones presentation. If it wasn't imporatnt enough to be shown at the "conference" then it shouldn't be counted. Eg. Bloodborne on the PS4 was counted under CGI caue that was what was shown at the conference..... even though behind closed doors the game was actually playable and their was a leaked gameplay trailer.

The pie charts are useless, read their subtitle/legend instead

and i don't even want to ask what qualifies as "shooting" in the game type section

Wait, Nintendo didn't devote any time at all to advertise for multi-plats? Why not? Talking about third-parties at your presentation is a good way to make them happy.

... or does the Wii U not have any multi-plats? It does have some, doesn't it?

outside of Watch Dogs which is already on other consoles and kids games like Lego Batman 3 and Disney Infinity and Skylanders that is all of the multiplats on Wii U that we know is coming out unforinutely

12 games. That's depressing.

Impossible! Everyone knows Sony is all about "teh gamez" and that they have the most / best exclusives.

I especially like the "Time Spent" charts... Sony had the longest conference and spent nearly half of it doing something other than showing games. Remember when M$ got all kinds of crap for focusing on stuff other than games at the XB1 reveal show last year?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Ouch.  I pretty much just assumed that they'd have the cross-gen franchises from Ubi and Activision.

As for the Treehouse counting, then they'd have to count Playstation's LiveCast, which is basically the same thing, and I assume Microsoft had streams going, as well.

Sony - 58 minutes

MS - 60 minutes

Nintendo - 31 minutes

you were saying?

btw, yes, the graphs do show Sony has more exclusives. 15.

Anyway, which shooters did Sony show other than Destiny, BF hardline, The Order and Uncharted 4?

what about how many games been shown...??

edit: sorry my bad, saw it now...

Some of it is pretty interesting if you read between the lines. For example it's nice to have confirmation that Sony showed both the most exclusives and the most games in general. Shows how much a boring section can damage peoples perception of a conference.

It's pretty nice data but it's presented poorly. That shooter graph is utterly pointless without context though. Does Bloodborne count as a shooter because he's holding a gun? What about NMS? Do space ships shooting rocks count as a shooter? Are we talking about only guns, or does any projectile firing weapon count?
