I didn't think it would redfine the genre, I was basing my prediction more on the Alpha and Beta. If the game had a lot more content than it had at launch the I could see the game possibly getting a high 80's (86-89) maybe even a 90.

Most critically under rated game of the year by far. Reviewers went full retard on this one. Best Pve FPS of all time. The Pvp is good too, but other games ha e done it better.

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

I finally saw gameplay of it and it looks like a blast :)

Nice necrobump. Shows how far hype can influence us all. Don't trust the hype. Kudos to all the people that were back in the summer skeptical about high scores.

Still the hype worked in another regard: the game has great sales and pushed consoles.

I think this game is very divisive, for very good reason: most console players had yet to be exposed to the MMO genre, especially console FPS players. In my opinion, Destiny's greatest flaws are borne of them not learning from the lessons of prior MMOs, most specifically WoW. I love Destiny, but the obvious omissions make me shake my head. While I understand the division, how many 2014 games can you name that are about to break the 1 BILLION hours played barrier? Hype and expectations have negatively impacted the game's review, but, compared to other games and their respective players' responses, the review is an under-rating.
