I really liked the first one, but it was plagued by technical issues and a barely existing story.

I think one reason why peopling are hating on the sequel is due to what Techland did with Riptide. Which was more of the same, without fixing a lot of the issues that a ton of people were complaining about. I think there is some fear of a repeat of that with DI2, and no gameplay was shown to put that fear to rest.

The first one, while not a masterpiece, was extremely fun and enjoyable. I am seriously looking forward to it.

It has NOTHING to do with Dead Island and Riptide being awful games!

No interests in Dead Island 2 whats so ever. Me and 3 of my best mates all bought it day 1 to play together, but we all got bored of playing it real fast. That is a gaming sin for me.

I enjoyed both games, they were really fun, especially in co-op.
And Spec Ops was one of the very few shooters I liked, so this game is a winning combination.
One of only 6 games I plan to buy Day One in the next 12 months...

Dead Island was a really fun and excellent co-op game.

The game is a blast with friends. It kind of gets repetitive pretty quickly. Hope 2 builds on 1/riptide, but I have a feeling there is not much room to take the FPS genre. Almost everything has been done.
