Nintendo is doing what they always done with their franchises. I don't see how Sony need to copy anything from Nintendo. It needs to be the opposite in many cases.

I agree. The PSVita is a great handheld and it is being let out to dry, getting whatever scraps fall from the PS3/PS4

Vita has a retarded amount of support, just cause they didnt mention it on an E3 conference that was suposed to focus on PS4 since its ts first E3 ever doesnt mean they dont suport the system. Also its not realy Sonys fault ppl wont buy this brilliant piece of hardware, its not expensive it has games and its very high tech, ppl just dont buy it for whatever reason.

I agree with the bolded but not in the same way you are thinking.
Sony don't mention Vita ever if they can get away with it. When you ask about Vita games they tell you to buy a PS4. Nobody buys hardware for hardware's sake. They buy it to get software. People aren't just not buying it for whatever reason. They are not buying it because it doesn't have enough compelling software. That is absolutely Sony's fault.

Yeah they are supporting it with indies and that's pretty much it, some localisations, some ports. Don't think anyone thinks it's enough. Sony should never take a page from Nintendo when it comes to supporting their consoles. You are okay with 5 year lifecycle while competition is supporting their systems for 7-8 years? |
No, you have to have a point and some reasoning to offend my love for Nintendo. You gotta try harder than that. It's funny that you mention the Wii U being supported with indies and some ports and localisations, when that's exactly what most of the Vita's output is these days. I'd say Nintendo is taking the page from Sony this time.
And yes, I'm OK with five-year lifecycles, so long as the console gets the full range of games I expect in it's lifetime. But considering that I play a much larger variety of games than the average person and I try to acquire every worthy game, I'm not hard to please. I'm still acquiring Wii games and playing them with no end in sight.
However, the the general impression I get from most forum goers is that they want shorter lifecycles to get to more powerful systems, better graphics and new possibilities sooner. I think you're the one in the minority here.

I've said that about the Vita exactly...don't really know what support Wii U gets since I don't really follow it, all I hear is game ----- drought ----- game with a couple of indies in between.
Yeah maybe if you're not hard to please, that's alright.
As for the third paragraph, well maybe that is true, it's hard to say. Problem is that Nintendo had a five year, shorter lifecycle, but followed with the console in 2012 not 2011, with 2011 being already relatively sparse.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!
Poor Vita... However, we need to understand that Sony and Nintendo are companies with different focus and in different financial situations.
Nintendo is a company of work only with gaming, if they just abandon a system, they will lose a lot of respect and the confidence of their customers, and that can be the end of their business, this is why they will fight for the Wii U during all his life time. In other hand, Sony is a really big electronic company, that has, today, really big financial problems (remember that Nintendo has his wallets full of the money, thanks to the Wii and DS), so, Sony need to focus on the products that can bring money, and now, PS Vita isn't on that list.
Actually, Sony is trying quite hard with the Vita. Destiny of Spirits, Freedom Wars, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Gravity Rush 2, and Oreshika are all Vita games produced by Sony.
Or do you mean, why aren't they paying for more western games? Honestly, why would they? I certainly would not, as North America has failed to support the Vita. It would be a waste of money at this point. The Vita now exists for those of us who like Japanese games. If you want a western "blockbuster" then I'm afraid you're out of luck.

North America has failed to support the Vita, or Sony failed to bring this support to the Vita?
