I agree with the bolded but not in the same way you are thinking.
Sony don't mention Vita ever if they can get away with it. When you ask about Vita games they tell you to buy a PS4. Nobody buys hardware for hardware's sake. They buy it to get software. People aren't just not buying it for whatever reason. They are not buying it because it doesn't have enough compelling software. That is absolutely Sony's fault.
