Actually, Sony is trying quite hard with the Vita. Destiny of Spirits, Freedom Wars, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Gravity Rush 2, and Oreshika are all Vita games produced by Sony.
Or do you mean, why aren't they paying for more western games? Honestly, why would they? I certainly would not, as North America has failed to support the Vita. It would be a waste of money at this point. The Vita now exists for those of us who like Japanese games. If you want a western "blockbuster" then I'm afraid you're out of luck.
